Immediate Position $18/hr + tips, friendly kitchen, no egos, subsidized housing on Orcas Island

Orcas Hotel is a small, independently owned hotel and cafe  on Orcas Island in northern Washington. We are hiring Line Cooks to join our back-of-house team for the shoulder season, with opportunities for year-round work.

This role is ideal for cooks who value a friendly, ego-free kitchen culture and take pride in consistency, cleanliness, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Line cooking during service

• Prep and station setup/breakdown

• Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards

• Supporting teammates during high-volume service

Pay & Benefits

• $18/hour base pay plus tip pool

  • With tips, hourly pay typically averages ~$24/hour in the low season and significantly higher during summer

• Shift meals and dining discounts

• Subsidized employee housing may be available ($500 $950/month)

• Seasonal and year-round positions available

Orcas Island offers exceptional access to outdoor recreation, including nearby state parks, hiking, beaches, and water activities. The cafe overlooks the ferry landing and Salish Sea, with regular wildlife sightings and a strong local community.

Qualifications

• Prior line cook experience required

• Strong attention to detail and consistency

• Calm, team-oriented approach with no ego

• Reliable and comfortable in a fast-paced kitchen
