About the Role

Montana Supply is looking for a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Seasonal Merchandising Assistant to join our team for the holiday season.

This part-time, temporary position will support our Merchandising and Sales teams by keeping the sales floor stocked, organized, and ready for customers. You'll work behind the scenes as well as on the sales floor, preparing merchandise, maintaining backstock, organizing product, and helping ensure that our stores look their best during one of our busiest times of year.

The ideal candidate enjoys staying organized, takes pride in presentation, works well with others, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

What You'll Do

Sales Floor & Merchandising Support

• Prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to Montana Supply's merchandising and presentation standards.

• Steam apparel and prepare products for display.

• Label and price merchandise accurately.

• Restock the sales floor as needed throughout the day.

• Monitor product levels and communicate restocking needs to the Merchandising or Sales team.

• Help maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor.

• Support merchandising projects and seasonal resets as directed.

• Assist with moving and organizing merchandise to support changes to the sales floor.

• Ensure merchandise is properly folded, hung, tagged, and presented according to established standards.

Backstock Organization

• Maintain an organized, clearly labeled, and easily navigable backstock area.

• Organize merchandise according to established backstock standards.

• Receive excess sales-floor merchandise and return it to its appropriate backstock location.

• Keep backstock areas clean, organized, and efficient.

• Identify opportunities to improve product organization and communicate suggestions to the appropriate manager.

• Return loose or misplaced merchandise to its appropriate location as part of daily and end-of-day procedures.

Inventory & Product Organization

• Sort and organize merchandise efficiently between the sales floor and backstock.

• Assist with product organization and preparation for upcoming merchandising initiatives.

• Help maintain accurate product labeling and pricing.

• Promptly update labels or pricing when directed by the Merchandising or Sales team.

• Handle merchandise carefully and maintain a high level of attention to detail.

Team Support

• Work closely with the Merchandising, Sales, and Operations teams to support daily priorities.

• Communicate clearly about product needs, organizational issues, and completed tasks.

• Take direction from the appropriate manager and adjust priorities as business needs change.

• Assist with additional merchandising and organizational projects as needed.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous retail, merchandising, stockroom, or customer-service experience is helpful but not required.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.

• Basic computer and technology skills.

• Ability to follow established merchandising and organizational standards.

Schedule & Availability

This is a part-time, temporary position running October 26 through December 23.

The position is expected to work 16–24 hours per week, with Mondays and Wednesdays required. Additional hours may be scheduled based on business needs and availability.
