Mono Hot Springs is a 2.5-hour drive from Fresno, CA, and located in the High Sierra Wilderness between Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Parks

About Mono Hot Springs Resort

Mono Hot Springs Resort is a remote, high-country, off-the-grid, successful seasonal resort catering to families, campers, and fishermen seeking an escape from city life. We offer historic cabins, a restaurant, a general store, natural hot springs, and a campground. Our season runs from Memorial Day weekend through October 31st. Our staff live and work on-site, forming a close-knit community. Hiking, fishing, boating, and horseback riding are just a few of the recreational opportunities in the area. We are located 90 miles east of Fresno, CA, deep in the Sierra National Forest, between Kings Canyon and Yosemite National Parks.

Room and Board

Mono Hot Springs Resort offers employee housing and board for $400/month. This includes housing in either a dormitory room, RV trailer, or cabin (roommate required in cabin). If you have your own trailer or camper, you are welcome to use it for lodging; spots are limited with hookups. Restrooms are located near housing areas, and employees have free use of our hot springs bathhouse and spa. Laundry facilities are provided at no extra cost. We serve our staff there meals daily, seven days a week, at our River Rock Cafe. Employee housing options include cabins, RV trailers, and dorm rooms. 

Employee Perks

Shift tip share policy: Wait staff and cooks split tips on there shift at the restaurant equally. Credit card tips are paid out on paychecks. Cash tips are paid out daily at the end of each shift. Tip envelopes are provided to our cabin guests and distributed equally to the housekeeping staff at the end of the pay period

 All employees receive a 25% discount in the store.

Getting Here and Getting Around

If an employee doesn't have their own transportation or arrives via bus, train, or airport, we provide free transportation from Fresno, CA to Mono Hot Springs Resort.

Many employees bring their own cars or trucks to make trips to the nearby resorts, as well as Huntington Lake, Shaver Lake, Edison Lake (VVR), and even down to Fresno. 

If employees don't bring their own vehicle with their belongings, then most will have their needed possessions shipped via UPS or FedEx.

For Fun

There is so much to do outdoors here in the Sierras with our great summer weather! Enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and climbing while taking in the splendor of the surrounding peaks. Fishing and soaking in the natural hot springs at Mono Hot Springs are also great options. Photography opportunities are unlimited! Evenings around the campfire are a lot of fun, talking to people from all over the world – you never know who you'll be sitting next to. We don't have nightclubs, malls, a bar scene, or city lights... but our stars are bright and beautiful!

    Spend the summer at Mono Hot Springs! Nestled in the heart of the Sierra Nevada Mountains between Yosemite and Kings Canyon national parks. Our scenic and rustic restaurant features a full service menu, hand-cut steaks, Fish, Specialty bugers,  including healthy and hearty cuisine, and a large selection of micro-brews.

    Employees must be able to thrive in an off the grid location, work through October 17 (some positions can go through October 31), and most importantly; work and play well with others.. We hire those with a positive attitude, an enthusiastic approach toward cooking and a willingness to work in a team.


    We are looking for anyone with at least 1 year cooking experience to apply. Whether you are pantry, fry, sautee. You will leave with solid experience in all aspects of a  dinner operation. If you have experience  lunch and dinner working a line and are looking to come out to a beautiful place to enjoy with the rest of us for the summer... Please feel free to reach out!     Skills and Job Requirements:

    • Ideal candidates will have working knowledge of all line positions, broil, fry, pantry etc...

    • Ability to cook and plate 50 to 60 covers per shift.

    • Ability to create dinner specials.

    • Ability to take charge of Kitchen.

    • Responsible for proper food handling and storage practices to ensure food safety.

    • Takes direction well and can execute managers food style.

    • Preparation of staff meals.

    • Self-motivated with good positive can-do energy. Must have the mature personality to work through normal kitchen issues. (collaboration among other staff members is key in this kitchen)

    • 5 day work week, 2 consecutive days off to explore the John Muir Wilderness, Yosemite & Kings Canyon National Parks, and all that the golden state has to offer.

    • California food cert is required                                                                                      All restaurant tips are shared equally among all employees on shift. 

    • Lodging/board provided for $400/month.

    • Almost no expenses to save money earned.
