About the Job
Mill Creek Resort is a small, family-owned mountain resort near Lassen Volcanic National Park, welcoming guests who come to stay in our cabins, campground, glamping tents, and other unique accommodations.
We’re looking for reliable, hardworking, detail-oriented people to join our team for the 2027 season. This is a hands-on hospitality position that primarily focuses on housekeeping while also supporting guest services, special events, and the day-to-day needs of a small seasonal resort.
This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys physical work, being outdoors, working independently and as part of a small team, and helping create a welcoming experience for guests.
Applicants with their own RV or trailer are strongly encouraged to apply and will receive priority consideration for on-site housing, as employee housing is limited.

Key Responsibilities
• Clean and prepare cabins, glamping tents, our vintage trailer, Westy van, and other guest accommodations between stays

• Manage laundry, linens, towels, and housekeeping supply rotation

• Restock guest accommodations and shared spaces

• Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming common areas

• Complete routine deep-cleaning projects throughout the season

• Communicate maintenance needs, damage, missing items, or guest concerns to management

• Assist with light groundskeeping, property projects, or maintenance when needed and appropriate to experience

• Work collaboratively with other team members during busy turnover days
Guest Services
Because we are a small resort, our team members often help outside their primary department. Depending on scheduling and resort needs, housekeeping staff may also:
• Welcome guests and assist with check-in and check-out

• Provide information about resort amenities and nearby recreation

• Show guests to accommodations and help orient them to the property

• Respond to basic guest questions and requests

• Communicate guest concerns to management

• Help create a friendly, relaxed, and helpful atmosphere throughout the resort
Special Events & Seasonal Projects
Mill Creek hosts a variety of gatherings throughout the season, including wellness retreats, workshops, corporate gatherings, weddings, and other private events.
Team members may assist with event preparation and support, including:
• Setting up and breaking down event spaces

• Moving tables, chairs, supplies, and equipment

• Preparing accommodations and common areas for groups

• Assisting with general event logistics

• Helping welcome vendors, facilitators, or event guests

• Supporting cleanup during and after events
Seasonal property projects may also include raking, watering, wood splitting and stacking, campground cleanup, gardening, and other tasks that help keep the resort running smoothly.
Schedule & Hours
This is a seasonal hospitality position, and schedules change throughout the season based on occupancy, guest departures, events, and property needs.
Employees can generally expect 30–40 hours per week, with hours fluctuating throughout the season. During slower periods, schedules may be closer to 30 hours, while 40-hour weeks are less common during most of the season.
Weekend and holiday availability is required. Our busiest days are often the days when other people are traveling or enjoying time off.
Days off may vary from week to week. Two consecutive days off are not guaranteed and are uncommon during much of the peak season. We work to create fair schedules and provide time off whenever possible while balancing the needs of a small seasonal property.
Start and end times may also vary depending on check-outs, arrivals, events, and occupancy. Applicants should be comfortable with a flexible seasonal schedule.
Job Details
• Seasonal Commitment: April/May through September/October 2027, with some mid-season positions potentially available

• Starting Compensation: $18/hour

• Hours: Approximately 30–40 hours per week depending on occupancy and season

• RV Applicants: Applicants bringing their own RV or trailer receive priority consideration for on-site housing; full-hookup employee RV sites may be available

Employee Housing & Pets
On-site housing is limited, so applicants with their own RV or trailer are strongly encouraged to apply.
Pets are not permitted in Mill Creek Resort-provided employee housing. Employees bringing and living in their own RV or trailer may have pets, subject to Mill Creek Resort’s employee pet policies and property guidelines.
Employees must have reliable transportation separate from their RV or trailer setup. Mill Creek is in a rural mountain location, and personal transportation is important for groceries, errands, recreation, and exploring the surrounding area.
Requirements
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently

• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean spaces

• Comfortable with the physical demands of housekeeping and resort work

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

• Comfortable moving between housekeeping, guest service, events, and general property tasks when needed

• Positive and respectful communication with guests and coworkers

• Reliable personal transportation

• Previous housekeeping, hospitality, lodging, or resort experience is preferred but not required

• Experience in hotels, resorts, campgrounds, vacation rentals, or similar hospitality environments is a plus

• Strong organizational and time-management skills
This is an active, hands-on position. Applicants should be comfortable:
• Regularly lifting and carrying up to 30–40 lbs.

• Bending, kneeling, reaching, making beds, and climbing stairs

• Walking between accommodations and around the property throughout the workday

• Working on their feet for extended periods

• \Working both indoors and outdoors in changing mountain weather and summer temperatures

Living & Working in a Remote Location
Mill Creek Resort is located in a beautiful but rural mountain setting near Lassen Volcanic National Park. Part of the experience of working here is living away from larger towns, stores, and everyday conveniences.
Employees should come prepared for rural seasonal living. Grocery stores, medical services, shopping, and other amenities require driving, which is why reliable personal transportation is required in addition to your RV or trailer setup.

Chester is approximately 22 miles from the resort and offers a well-stocked grocery store, gas stations, restaurants, and other basic amenities. Red Bluff is about a 45-minute drive and offers larger stores, shopping, and most everyday services.
For additional shopping, entertainment, medical services, and other city amenities, Chico and Redding are both approximately 1.5 hours from the resort. Employees should be comfortable planning ahead for groceries, errands, appointments, and other personal needs while living at Mill Creek.
We encourage employees to embrace the slower pace of mountain life, while also understanding that planning ahead for groceries, appointments, errands, and personal needs is important.
Employee Housing
On-site employee housing is limited. Priority is given to applicants who bring their own RV or trailer.
An employee RV site with hookups is provided as part of seasonal employment. Housing and employee RV sites are intended for actively employed Mill Creek Resort team members and are tied to continued employment. Specific arrival, departure, and housing expectations will be outlined as part of the employment agreement.
Pets are not permitted in Mill Creek Resort-provided employee housing. Employees living in their own RV or trailer may bring pets, subject to Mill Creek Resort's employee pet and property guidelines.
Couples are welcome and encouraged to apply. Because employee RV sites and housing are limited, preference may be given to couples where both individuals are employed by Mill Creek Resort for the season. Each person should apply separately and be hired for a position that fits their experience and our seasonal staffing needs.
Seasonal Commitment
Our primary season runs approximately April/May through September/October, and applicants who can commit to the full agreed-upon season will receive priority consideration.
Because we are a small team, completing your seasonal commitment is especially important during our busiest summer months. We understand that unexpected circumstances happen, but applicants should apply with the intention of staying through their agreed-upon end date.
Some shorter or mid-season positions may occasionally be available depending on staffing needs.
Property Expectations
Mill Creek is both a workplace and a home for our seasonal team, and we want it to feel safe, comfortable, and respectful for employees and guests alike.
Employees are expected to follow all resort policies regarding smoking, alcohol, substances, quiet hours, guests, shared spaces, and employee housing. Specific property and housing guidelines will be reviewed during onboarding.
Cell Service & Wi-Fi
Working at Mill Creek means spending a season in a rural mountain setting, so cell service and internet access can look a little different than they do in town.
AT&T currently provides the most reliable cell service in our area. Verizon also works but can be more limited and spotty depending on your location around the property.
Starlink works well in our area, and employees living in their own RV or trailer are highly encouraged to bring a Starlink setup or another personal internet option if reliable or regular internet access is important to them.
Wi-Fi is available in the lodge area for employee use during designated hours. The lodge is not generally open to the public outside of special events, group rentals, and other scheduled uses, so employee access to this space and its Wi-Fi is limited and may vary throughout the season.
If you work remotely outside of your Mill Creek position, take online classes, stream regularly, or otherwise depend on consistent internet access, please plan to provide your own internet service whenever possible rather than relying solely on resort Wi-Fi.
