Getting Here and Getting Around
The airport in Bozeman, MT is located about one hour from the Ranch and offers daily flights on multiple airlines. For shopping and outings, there is a free bus service to and from Bozeman and a city bus service in Bozeman as well as a local Big Sky bus system. Driving to the Ranch is very scenic along Highway 191 through the Gallatin Canyon.
For Fun
On your time off, you can enjoy many of the same activities our guests enjoy. Working at the Ranch provides the opportunity to discover the Yellowstone ecosystem by participating in endless recreational experiences. Sleigh Ride Dinner, cross country skiing, downhill skiing at Big Sky’s world-class ski resort, snowshoeing, Yellowstone tours, hiking, horseback ridging, archery, high ropes course and fishing are just some of the activities available. Crew members are welcome to join in on guest activities on a space-available basis or to explore the surrounding area on their own.
Current Job Openings
Serve as the primary overnight point of contact for guests, responding promptly and professionally to calls or requests from cabins
Secure and monitor the Outpost, the Horn & Cantle, and cabin areas throughout the night, maintaining a visible and reassuring overnight presence
Conduct routine overnight safety and security checks of the property, including monitoring lighting, doors, walkways, and activity in guest areas
Ensure all Ranch vehicles and keys are returned, secured, and accounted for at the end of the day
Complete nightly audit procedures, including reviewing reports, closing out systems, and preparing required overnight documentation
Maintain cleanliness and organization of overnight work areas, including light cleaning and restroom cleaning, ensuring spaces are refreshed and guest-ready for the morning.
Oversee and execute the morning coffee service for guest cabins, ensuring orders are reviewed, prepared with care, and delivered in a timely and thoughtful manner
Communicate and collaborate closely with Outpost team members to pass along important overnight information and ensure continuity of service
Provide support for overnight transportation needs for Ranch guest and Auric Room Members, including late-night dining transportation as needed.
Work directly with the Transportation Manager and drivers regarding guest movements, early departures, or overnight transportation needs
Coordinate with managers and department leads for late-night events, dining service at the Horn & Cantle, or other after-hours operations
Communicate clearly with the Front Desk Manager regarding overnight activity, guest concerns, safety issues, maintenance needs, or notable observations
Support early morning departures or guest needs as they arise
Uphold confidentiality, safety protocols, and Ranch standards at all times
Previous experience in hospitality, night audit, security, or guest-facing roles preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to complete overnight reporting accurately

- Provide "excellent quality" and "presentation" of all food to the guests. The demonstration, preparation and execution of each menu item and the item specifications and presentation will be agreed upon.
- Set up and stock sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period, restocking items to avoid running out during service and in preparation for the next day.
- Complete new prep lists for the next day prior to end of shift.
- Follow and complete kitchen checklists and prep lists.
- Proper guest service requires that the food is produced on a timely basis and that the servers are well educated regarding the menu, giving special attention to special requests and allergies.
- Know and consistently comply with our standard portion size, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures. Use the proper utensils when serving food; weigh when needed; measure properly when following recipes.
- Prevent the spoiling and contamination of foods by following proper sanitation practices and ensuring compliance with policy and health regulations.
- Ensure food quality standards are being followed by checking food temperatures and occasionally tasting food for consistency.

They make sure everything has been set up correctly before starting work. Other Important Information:
• Seasonal Bonus Program: Hourly employees are able to participate in our seasonal bonus program. Each hourly employee will receive $1 per hour worked per season and $1.50 per overtime hour worked. Employees who are terminated or resign from their position before the end of each season, will not be able to participate in this program. If the season is cut short due to business levels, the employee will still participate in this program. Positions that are contracted at a shorter term, like the Outdoor Youth Adventures program, this employee will be able to participate in this program. All hours worked outside of these seasonal ranges will not apply to this bonus program. The range for Summer Season is May 15th to October 15th.
• Staff Cafeteria: You will have access to our staff cafeteria which provides 3 meals a day, as well as a large selection of grab and go items to suit anyone’s day.
• Ranch Gratuity: In addition to your hourly rate, you will receive a ranch gratuity unique to us, which averages $2-$6 per hour worked, dependent on business levels and LMR staffing count.
• Ranch Wide Activities: We also understand that every full work week requires a little me time. And what better way to unwind than to take advantage of the many summer activities the ranch has to offer? As long as there are openings, you have free access to the following in the summer season: horseback riding, Outdoor Youth Adventures Program, Yellowstone National Park Tours, yoga, and mountain biking. During the winter months, you will have access to 50 Miles of world renown cross country ski trails right outside your back door.
• Arrival/Transportation: While we know that we are in one of the most beautiful and sought-after destinations in America, we also know we are a little off the beaten path. The ranch will provide complimentary transportation to and from the airport, should come to us by air. Once you get on property, you may feel a little altitude. After all, this historic ranch is nestled into this beautiful valley at 6600 ft. so there will be an adjustment period.
