Room and Board

Limited shared on-Ranch housing is available at a minimal cost, which is deducted from bi-weekly payroll.

Getting Here and Getting Around

The airport in Bozeman, MT is located about one hour from the Ranch and offers daily flights on Delta, Northwest, Horizon/Alaska Airlines and United Airlines. For shopping and outings, there is a free bus service to and from Bozeman and a city service in Bozeman as well as a local Big Sky bus system. Driving to the Ranch is very scenic along Highway 191 through the Gallatin Canyon.

For Fun

On your time off you can enjoy many of the same activities our guests enjoy. Working at the Ranch provides the opportunity to discover the Yellowstone ecosystem by participating in endless recreational experiences. Horseback riding, fly fishing, hiking, canoeing, mountain biking, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, and snowshoeing are just some of the sports available in Yellowstone and the National Forests surrounding the Ranch. Crew members are welcome to join in on guest activities on a space available basis or to explore the surrounding backcountry on their own. During the winter we are serious about cross country skiing! Lone Mountain Ranch is recognized as one of North America's finest Nordic ski resorts with over 85 km of groomed trails. With our very dependable snow, the area is great for alpine skiing and snowboarding at Big Sky Ski Resort and Moonlight Basin as well as backcountry skiing.

Seeking full time supervisor to join our hospitality driven Front of House farm to fork restaurant for our current Summer season. Previous FOH supervisory experience required.Responsibilities include assisting in the management of the breakfast and lunch operation to meet/exceed the service goals, and staff supervisory objectives while providing Superior guest hospitality.  Our Am Front of House supervisor carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with our company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Head Wrangler

Seeking previously experienced horse wranglers to help lead/instruct our summer guest trail rides. Our summer horse program leads trips throughout the greater Yellowstone ecosystem including into the Northwest corner of Yellowstone Park, our local trail system, area forest service and wilderness trails.  Previous experience hauling horses and driving horse trailers preferred.  Daily horse care/vet care experience required. Individual must poses superior guest interaction skills and be 100% committed to guest safety.

Seeking full time line cooks to join our culinary team for our upcoming Summer season. Previous line cook experience required. The ability to work in all areas of the kitchen operations required; grill, sauté, prep, pantry and dish. The ability to produce quality food with attention to detail and flavor profiles required. Responsible for food preparation, maintaining sanitary standards and the ability to work well with fellow employees is critical.

Applicants must possess some previous experience facilitating activities such as high ropes course, mountain biking, camping, canoeing, games, arts /crafts, and nature and science based programs. Lone Mountain Ranch is an equal opportunity employer. We make selections based on availability and skills. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age, a U.S. citizen, or hold an un-expired Employment Authorization document from the INS.

Our summer season runs from about June 1 to September 30. Hiring for summer begins in late-February. Our winter season runs from about December 5 to March 31 with hiring beginning in mid-September. Although there may be some flexibility with the dates of employment, your chances of being hired increase if you apply early and if you can work through the entire season. You may apply for more than one position. Please list your qualifications for each job position.
