The Employee Experience
WE ARE HIRING for fall/winter Season ‘22-‘23! LINE COOKS, Front Desk Agents, and Grounds/MaIntenance!
All team members work and live here! It's an amazing place in the forest. Off-grid living for the most part. Some employees buy satellite TV and/or internet, but the main lodge has satellite WiFi employees can use when they're off work. The Country Store has a pay phone ($1 for 5min anywhere USA), but there is no cell phone signal for over an hour either direction.
We have excellent and recently renovated employee housing which is super affordable and pet friendly!
We do attempt to give employees 2 days off back-to-back so you can enjoy the great outdoors! Hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, backpacking, etc...... It's an outdoor enthusiasts dream come true!
Our ideal candidate enjoys the outdoors more than anything. We look for individuals that want adventure and exploration. Individuals who thrive on meeting new people, exploring new trails, and doing a hard day's work.
Our location is remote. No cell service for over an hour away in either direction. The lodge does have satellite internet and we allow employees to use it, within reason, when off shift. The country store has a payphone (old school) for $1 you can call anywhere in the USA! The closest town is Lolo Montana, over 45 minutes away.
Room and Board
We offer a mix of employee housing options; ranging from private rooms, shared bunk rooms, to RVs and wall tents depending on the season and employment arrangement. There are monthly rental fees, depending on the accommodations provided, but rent includes utilities (water, sewer, power, heat, and trash).
We offer a shift meal from our restaurant, anytime you're scheduled for a 6+ hour shift. When you're not working, you can enjoy 50% off our standard restaurant menu prices (no discount on alcohol).
Employees get 50% off anything in the restaurant (except alcohol). Shift meals are provided. We do offer flexible scheduling and everyone who works here truly enjoys being here!
We are pet friendly, so employees with pets are welcome (within reason).
We offer training & cross-training options for those looking to grow the job into a career or just to keep things interesting with shifts in other departments or areas of the lodge.
Getting Here and Getting Around
Located just over hour from the nearest transportation hub (Missoula Montana) it is highly recommended that you have your own vehicle for town supply runs and to access local recreation areas. Missoula also has the closest airport & bus station to the lodge.
Lochsa Lodge is physically in the state of Idaho, but we have a Montana mailing address. We're about 10 minutes from the Idaho/Montana state line and Lolo Pass on US Hwy 12 in the small ranger station community of Powell, Idaho. We're right along the MST/PST time zone border as well, but the lodge operates on Mountain Standard Time.
Our staff enjoys white water rafting, blue-ribbon fishing, hunting, hiking, hot spring soaks, river floats, evenings by the bonfire, mountain biking, skiing, and trips into Missoula, MT for awesome concerts, restaurants, and weekend fun.
