Indian and Forest Acres Camps are brother-sister camps located in Fryeburg, ME, 2 miles down the road from each other. Entering our 102nd summer, we have a rich history of traditions that sets us apart. With campers from across the globe, and an equally diverse staff, we believe that a summer with us, will be a summer like no other!
Along the Saco River, near the White Mountains, sits our two camps. We are 1 hour from Portland and 3 hours from Boston, and a short 20 min drive from the quaint ski town of North Conway, NH.

Room and Board
Housing is provided to all employees. Counselors live in cabins with 6-8 campers and one other counselor. All of the cabins are equipped with showers, toilets, and electricity.
Non-bunk staff live in a cabin with other like staff or in their own, based on availability.
All meals are provided while you work at Indian & Forest Acres Camp. Six days a week our meals are served family style, and on Sundays, it is buffet style.
Every day at breakfast, we have a hot meal served, as well as oatmeal, and a full breakfast bar which includes a variety of cereals, yogurts, juice, and fresh fruit. At lunch, we serve soup daily, as well as a hot meal. We also have an amazing salad bar that is overflowing with options. The salad bar is also open at dinner.
We are able to accommodate specific allergies, such as gluten and dairy-free and vegetarian diets. We are not a Kosher camp. We are NUT FREE.

Getting Here and Getting Around
Arriving to camp in your own car is the best way to have the ultimate camp experience and will provide you with all the options to get off the property in your time off. There is ample staff parking available.
For those flying, we recommend flying into Boston Logan Airport, where you will catch the Concord Coach Line bus to Conway, NH, where camp will pick you up.
For Fun

We encourage staff to get out and explore on their time off, whether that be for shopping, a hike, a trip to a beach or a lake, or a meal out. There is much to explore in this beautiful area that we are so lucky to be located in!
Current Job Openings
Managing transportation schedule through shared Google Calendar with girls camp, Forest Acres
Keeping track of camper technology brought to camp
Helping organize and plan field trips, including making reservations at venues and reserving transport
Assist with end of summer banquet
Order and organize camper medals
Helping with scheduling of activities and staff time off
Teach and reinforce fundamental baseball and/or softball skills (e.g., hitting, fielding, pitching, base running).
Develop and implement age-appropriate baseball/softball lesson plans and drills.
Provide constructive feedback and guidance to campers on their performance.
Must be 18 years or older, and preferably completed their first year of college
- Must have experience using the Pottery Wheel, and a bonus, to have experience operating a Kiln.
- Instructs campers in the art of ceramics, including techniques like hand-building, wheel throwing, and glazing.
- Experience working in a ceramics studio, either as an artist or instructor.
- Work with Assistant Director/Director/Admin as needed
- Work with parents/campers on therapy schedules and tutoring schedules
- Complete phone call home schedule online and a paper copy on the desk
- All camper, counselor lists, charts, or forms are on Google Docs
- Train counselors weekly on rest hour office duties
- Answer phone- check answering machine each morning
- Check your email every morning/afternoon
- Sweep/wipe down desk/empty trash/check bathroom each morning in office and porch of hostel
- Check supplies every week. Always need copy paper, batteries, stamps and ones for soda machine (hint: don’t leave lots of pens/pencils on desk at night because they won’t be there in the morning! Lol)
- Sort mail and check in packages (UPS, FedEx, Amazon, US mail)
- Greet/check in visitors
- Organize transportation for all activities and trips. Record on Google Docs as well as paper copy on clipboard in office
- Check/fill soda machine
- Coordinate vehicles availability/drivers for airport runs if needed
- Make copies and laminate as needed
- Assist counselors and campers with any questions or concerns if possible
Assistant Programming Director
We are hiring an Assistant Programming Director for this summer. Dates of employment are June 13-August 13.
Having great communication and organization skills is very important. It is also really important to be a good communicator and be able to keep calm in what can sometimes be a hectic environment.
Proficiency with Google Suite is desired.
Hiking Assistant Counselor
Dates for this position are June 10, 2026 to August 13, 2026.
The Hiking Counselor is responsible for assisting on daily hikes with the Hiking Director. You will take groups of children out for hikes in the White Mountain National Forest. Hikes are programmed based on ability level, so comfort and endurance to complete higher mileage and steep trails is needed. We would also like for the individual to be either currently lifeguard certified or we will provide onsite lifeguard training. Occasionally our hikes lead to watering holes or waterfalls and the kids like to go in the water.
Responsibilities
• Demonstrate sound judgement and establish a nurturing atmosphere in which campers feel safe, engaged, and included
• Communicate with all campers and staff in a positive and respectful manner
• Give clear and instructions for activities, considering various learning styles and listening abilities of each age group
• Maintain a clear, organized, and safe program area.
Individual hired for this position must be comfortable living with campers in a cabin.

Waterfront Counselor
Join us for the experience of a lifetime as a Waterfront Counselor. The employment dates for this position are June 7th-Aug 14th.
Indian & Forest Acres Camp, a premier brother/sister sleep-away camp in the White Mountains of Maine, (3 hours outside Boston, 1 hour outside of Portland, ME) is currently looking for Waterfront Counselors to work at our lake. As a Waterfront Counselor working at Lovewell Pond, you will take campers out on our motor boats and help teach and coach them in a variety of water sports, ranging from waterskiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, tubing, etc. We also offer kayaking, canoeing and sailing, in addition to our inflatables that the campers love jumping and climbing on. Experience doing any of these water sports and/or having a motor boat license is strongly desired to ensure a safe environment for all.
You will work with campers, ages 7-16, of all ability and experience levels. As a counselor, you will also live in a cabin with campers and at least one other counselor.
