Wanted, awesome people with energetic enthusiastic personalities to guide our snowmobile tours.

If you are already part of the guide culture, you have probably already heard about guiding snowmobile tours and how lucrative it is. For those of you who don't know, the short description is you get to ride a snowmobile leading a group of people on snowmobiles around the mountain. You educate, entertain, photograph and make these people happy and then most of them give you money $$$ and tell you how great you are! 

Tours last 2 -3 hours and some include a stop at the tubing hill where you will tow your guests up to the top of the hill and then you will let them slide back to the bottom. We also have a place you can stop to let the kids ride little snowmobiles during the tour. If you and your guests need to warm up during the tour, you can pull your tour in to one of the cocoa huts where you and your guests can enjoy some complimentary hot cocoa. You may get as many as four tours on a big day.

Keep in mind, snowmobile guides must by tough enough to work in all weather conditions including blizzards and temperatures way below zero. Although most days are beautiful with bluebird skies. As a snowmobile guide your primary duty will be guiding, but you will also need to help with other things like checking in guests, support other guides on the mountain, base support, light maintenance on snowmobiles, inspecting equipment, gassing snowmobiles, fitting gear on guests, scooping snow, cleaning, keeping things organized and more. Guides keep High Country Tours running and may be asked to help with any aspect of operations. 

This job starts when we get enough snow to operate snowmobiles and ends when when we no longer have enough snow and have things put away for the summer. Normally we start in November or December and finish in April. Guiding is an on call job and Guides work when the customers want to go snowmobiling. You must be willing to commit for the entire season. We are busiest and need everyone available during Christmas break and busy holidays and Saturdays. We close on Christmas Day.

All new hires receive training on how to operate snowmobiles, how to guide our trail systems, and how we like to do things.

Criteria to be a Snowmobile Guide:

• Be a awesome person who is a team player that can make every guest a happy customer.

• Love working with lots of people in a fast paced environment.

• We like our guides to be at least 23 years old but do sometimes make an exception.

• Guides must have a valid drivers license and a current First Aid CPR certification.

• Be able to lift at least 80 pounds and see in low light conditions.

• Have a reliable vehicle.

• Read, write, and understand the English language. Speaking other languages in addition to English is a plus!

• Be able to legally work in the U.S.

• Be able to communicate using a two way radio.

• Work in a high alpine environment and work in every situation mother nature can throw at you in the mountains.

• Be able to handle difficult situations such as unruly customers or situations where people are hurt and need your help.
