From the moment you arrive at Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge in Denali State Park, you know you’re somewhere special. Located south of the National Park near the Chulitna River, Mt. McKinley Lodge is a true wilderness retreat with a host of recreational activities, exceptional amenities, and awesome views of Denali.

Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge, is situated on 180 acres of land inside Denali State Park, bordered by the Chulitna River, & features dramatic vistas of Denali.

About Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge

With remote wilderness, beauty and adventure around every corner, the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge offers an experience like no other.  Make lasting friendships, go on memorable hikes, and take in the incredible views of Denali or possibly the northern lights.

The Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge sits on a vast 180 acres, has 460 guest rooms, 3 guest dining establishments, a coffee shop, and a quintessential fireside retreat.  You summer adventure can start here and there are exciting job opportunities to make that adventure come to life.

Our season runs from early May until mid September and we are looking for candidates who can join us for the entire season. 

The Employee Experience

The Mt. Mckinley Princess Wilderness Lodge has around 300 employees. While that might feel like a large amount, we are a tight group due to our unique location.  We all share a passion for Alaska and its beauty.  We work hard and but also take any opportunity we can to get out and explore.  The area offers world class fishing, hiking, gold mining, wildlife viewing, flight seeing, boat trips on the rivers, and unparalleled photo ops!

While at work, our team delivers exceptional service with a welcoming smile.  Our hospitality culture leaves a lasting impression and desire for our guests to want to return.  We work 5 – 6 days a week, 40 – 48 hour work weeks.

Room and Board

Housing and Meals in Alaska can be very limited and very expensive.  We offer subsidized employee housing for a nominal fee.  Our housing is on site and a short walk to the main lodge location.  Our housing is dorm style and have 2-3 people per room with a jack-and-jill style bathroom in the middle. 

  • We have laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, a fitness room, a recreation room, an employee bar and plenty of outdoors to get outside in. 
  • We have many employee activities throughout the summer and there is always someone around for pickup game of basketball, watching a movie, playing a game, or heading out for a hike! 
  • We provide a bedding package, towels, toilet paper and cleaning supplies. 
  • Our tap water is delicious and safe to drink!
  • Employees are responsible for keeping their housing clean, tidy and respected. 
  • Employees are expected to follow and abide by all company policies to include our housing policy.  Other policies that are strictly enforced are our drunk and disorderly policy and our drug free workplace policy.  Marijuana and any cannabis products are not permitted on property. 
  • Our quiet hours are in place to respect our teammates and a variety of work schedules. 
  • Security and a Manager On Duty (MOD) is always available. 
  • We offer employee shuttles with dedicated schedules to Denali, Talkeetna, Wasilla, and Anchorage.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Once hired, please work closely with your manager to coordinate and communicate about how to get to the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge!!!!

Our closest airport is over 2.5 hours away; Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage, Alaska.  We have a shuttle schedule to assist you in getting from Anchorage to the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge. Our shuttle will make a 30-minute stop at Wal-Mart for any personal and last-minute items you may need.

For employees arriving on dates outside of our shuttle schedule, please coordinate with your manager.

Personal vehicles are allowed, but employees will need to confirm a date and time with your manager before you and arrive and check into housing. 

Employees must have a clear Background Check and complete Onboarding Paperwork before you’re allowed on property or in employee housing.  Liability does not allow employees arrive into our subsidized housing more than 24 hours prior to your first day with us.

    Host

    Provide a safe and enjoyable experience for guests and team members. Utilizes computerized point of sale equipment, interacts with guests, and maintains a clean facility with elevated standards of quality and attention to detail. Provide reliability, dependability, and a positive attitude in a high energy environment. Live a summer of adventure and memories, both creating your own and for others. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Operate point of sale computer, handle financial transactions and process orders accurately. 
    • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all work and storage spaces.
    • Cleaning and stocking the venue to ensure success, rotating and organizing product to prevent spoilage. 
    • Completing sanitization and food safety protocols and logs with assistance and direction from management.

    Food and Beverage Supervisor

    The Food and Beverage Supervisors are an integral part of the Food and Beverage Management team.  You will oversee all day to day restaurant operations providing excellent service to our guests including answering guest inquiries, and effectively handling complaints while maintain professionalism and friendly positive attitude that support HAP service excellence values.  This position supervises and motivates team members in line with company standards. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supervises food and beverage staff and the activities of the food and beverage operations and services.
    • Monitors and tracks sales, prepares analysis and recommends strategies to achieve sales and performance goals.
    • Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, objectives and applicable government laws and regulations.
    • Ensure all venues are always presentable and ready for service.
    • Handle guest complaints according to provided guidelines.
    • Regular checks of cashier’s paperwork, deposits, tips and correct closeouts of the POS system.
    • Hold pre-shift meetings with all FOH Team Members.
    • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and sanitation guidelines.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Must have a valid alcohol safety card for the State of Alaska.

    Maintenance

    Groundskeeper

    $17.00 / hour
    Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge

    A Groundskeeper performs a variety of tasks to maintain property grounds and foliage to put our best foot forward in the minds of our guests and our employees. Routine maintenance of the site landscape and grounds is a contributing factor to the safety and satisfaction of both guests and employees. This job ensures the aesthetics and functionalities of property grounds are maintained to company standards.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Routinely maintains plants, foliage, flowers, and property grounds. 
    • Operates ground equipment as needed. 
    • Routinely inspects grounds to ensure property appearance is in accordance with company standards.
    • Assists with a variety of entry-level maintenance tasks as assigned. 
    • Interacts with employees and guests including but not limited to answering questions and providing information about the local areas, hotel information, and general service interactions.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum age of 18 years to operate service vehicles and maintenance equipment. 
    • Current, valid driver's license, with three (3) years of clean driving record. Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be requested.
    • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and will be a part of our random drug testing program.
    • Must be able to lift 50 lbs./23kg.

    To ensure that the restaurant area (Employee Dining Room) is clean, sanitized and reset throughout the day.  Ensure adherence to all relevant quality and food health and sanitation principles from the state and the company’s own internal standards. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    · Maintain a clean and sanitary dining environment in the employee dining room (EDR), including cleaning tables and surfaces.

    · Wash dishes, cookware, and kitchen utensils, and operate and maintain dishwashing equipment.

    · Replenish and maintain the hot and cold food lines to ensure all items are fully stocked and presented attractively.

    · Monitor food quality and integrity on the service lines to comply with all health and safety standards.

    · Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation for entrees and other menu items.

    · Keep the dining area stocked with clean dishware, utensils, and condiments.

    · Replace soda and milk bibs as needed to ensure continuous beverage service.

    · Perform general cleaning tasks in the kitchen and dining room, including sweeping, mopping, and removing trash.

    Other duties as assigned.

Our team supports a combined fleet of ships sailing to Alaska each summer, lodges and hotels, motor coaches and domed rail cars for the best Alaska experience available. Our guests experience both comfort and adventure that is truly unmatched.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure that the dining and bar areas are clean during and after meal services. 
    • Ensure that the kitchen areas, equipment, and restrooms are clean during the overnight hours.
    • Provide the cooks, server assistants, bartenders and servers with support and assistance. 
    • Ensure guest and employee public areas are cleaned.
    • Provide support for all activities pertaining to cleaning/maintaining kitchen storage, preparation and service areas and materials to include maintaining closet inventories.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Performs a variety of entry-level housekeeping and delivery tasks. 
    • Routinely cleans public areas. 
    • Operates cleaning equipment. 
    • Makes supplies deliveries and maintains supply closets.
    •  Identifies maintenance issues. 
    • Respond to guest and management questions and inquiries. 
    • Assists other attendants with routine questions and monitors attendants' work.

    • Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment. 
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences. 
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals. 
    • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards. 
    • Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
