After employment has been secured, options can be discussed with the Grand Targhee Human Resources team, or employees are also welcome to secure housing on their own if they prefer.

    Special Events Manager

    Alta, Wyoming

    Special Events Manager (Full-Time Year-Round)

    SUMMARY


    The Special Events Manager will lead planning and executing winter and summer special events at the resort. Special events include things like ski races, bike and running races, and music festivals, ranging from 100 to 3,000 attendees. This role will also coordinate smaller set-ups such as vendor demos, non-profit pop-ups and the like which enhance the guest experience. The Special Events Manager will work cross-functionally across all resort departments and very closely with sales, marketing and mountain operations to maximize the success of each event. This individual has comprehensive experience in managing all aspects of event planning, including, but not limited to, logistics coordination, event flow, contract negotiation, event sponsorships, and budget management. This individual will have one direct report who will assist in executing events. This role will need to be on site for all events necessitating in weekend, holiday and evening hours as needed based on event schedules. A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.


     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    1. Lead the planning, coordination, and successful execution of winter and summer special events, from initial concept through event breakdown and post-event evaluation.

    2. Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned events, coordinating event requirements, timelines, logistics, and priorities with internal departments and external partners.

    3. Develop detailed event plans and provide clear, timely communication to internal teams to ensure alignment and successful execution.

    4. Prepare and distribute pre-event and post-event documentation, capturing event logistics, outcomes, lessons learned, and recommended changes for future events.

    5. Lead pre- and post-event meetings with appropriate stakeholders to communicate event needs, evaluate outcomes, and identify opportunities to improve future events.

    6. Develop, manage, and reconcile the annual event budget, ensuring events are executed within approved financial parameters.

    7. Identify opportunities to enhance existing events and develop new event concepts that increase guest engagement and improve the overall guest experience.

    8. Support contract negotiations with event partners, vendors, and service providers and help ensure contractual terms support the Resort's operational and business interests.

    9. Build and manage relationships with vendors, service providers, event partners, customers, and other external stakeholders.

    10. Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective event sponsors, including sponsorship outreach and follow-up.

    11. Proactively identify and resolve event-related challenges, adapting plans as conditions and operational needs change.

    12. Provide leadership, direction, and support to the Events Coordinator and additional event support staff.

    13. Manage multiple events and projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, commitments, and event details are effectively tracked and completed.

    • Intermediate to expert skier or snowboarder, comfortable on double black diamonds.

    • Previous successful experience managing direct reports.

    • Experience or knowledge of ski racing, bike racing, crowd management, music production, course planning and set-up, and timing functions preferred.

    Product Support Coordinator

    Alta, Wyoming

    Product Support Coordinator (Part-Time, Seasonal)

    SUMMARY

    The Product Support Coordinator supports resort-wide product setup and maintenance across multiple software platforms, ensuring a seamless and efficient guest experience. This role focuses on building, testing, and maintaining products offered through all resort departments—including Mountain Sports School, retail, rentals, lift tickets and season passes, summer activities, and transportation. Additionally, this position plays a key role in Ticket Control during the winter season, providing back-end support and troubleshooting guest ticketing issues at lifts.

    This position reports to the Product Development Manager and collaborates closely with other resort teams such as reservations, retail, guest experience, and IT.

    A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    1. Develop familiarity with all 26/27 Winter Season Mountain Access products (lift tickets and season passes).

    2. Understand operations, sales procedures and potential problems for all types of lift tickets and pass product types.

    3. Use Ticketing (RTP) and RFID gate (Axess) systems to troubleshoot tickets and pass scanning issues.

    4. Document and investigate ticketing errors to determine the cause of errors.

    5. Coordinate with other departments to address recurring user errors and retrain front line staff when necessary.

    6. Provide excellent guest service by resolving guest issues efficiently.

    7. Communicate system issues to Product Development and/or IT and assist in addressing the issues whenever possible.

    8. Monitor for potential fraudulent use and address and document instances of pass fraud with calm and professionalism. Notify appropriate personnel of any fraudulent use.

    9. Identify and implement strategies to improve the guest experience.

    10. Utilize telephones and two-way radios to communicate ticketing problems with supervisors and the ticket sales team.

    11. Provide timely responses to phone calls, voicemails, and emails.

    12. Respond to all guests and employees in a courteous and professional manner.

    Terrain Park

    Terrain Park Grooming Lead

    Terrain Park Grooming Lead (Full-Time, Seasonal)

    SUMMARY 

    The Terrain Park Grooming Lead oversees building and grooming our parks under the supervision of the Terrain Park Manager. Daily maintenance of the terrain parks and construction of new features around the resort is essential for creating reasonably safe and enjoyable experiences for our guests.

    A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    1. Build events and features of any size including but not limited to jumps, rail features, and snow features start to finish.

    2. Rake, shovel, and lift large metal objects when needed to maintain the park and ensure it remains in "photo worthy" condition. 

    3. Communicate needs and project timelines with terrain park manager, day crew lead, and other groomers.

    4. Ensure all park build, grooming, and vehicle logs are accurate and filled out daily.

    Bootfitter

    Alta, Wyoming

    Bootfitter (Full and Part-Time, Seasonal)

    WINTER 26/27: Position specializing in fitting alpine ski and snowboard boots, building custom footbeds, and performing boot modifications such as shell punches and liner molding to ensure guests are properly and comfortably fit. Also responsible for selling outdoor recreational items including outdoor clothing (ski and snowboard), accessories (goggles, bear spray), skis, snowboards, and bikes to the public. Obtaining payment for goods sold. Working at the cash register and balancing daily receipts. As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employee's job is to get and keep guests. A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    1. Providing superior service to all customers – the public and Grand Targhee employees – maintaining a friendly and enthusiastic attitude.

    2. Greeting customers and determining their needs, including assessing foot shape, ability level, and fit requirements for boot sales, adjustments, and modifications.

    3. Conducting professional alpine ski and snowboard boot fittings, evaluating fit, flex, forward lean, and shell size to match boots to each guest's foot and ability.

    4. Building custom footbeds to improve fit, support, and skiing/riding performance.

    5. Perform boot work including shell punches, grinds, buckle adjustments, and liner molding (heat molding) to relieve pressure points and improve overall fit.

    6. Checking in all new merchandise, stocks shelves, and arrange windows and other displays throughout the store.

    7. Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of store inventory, including boot models, flex ratings, liner options, and footbed systems.

    8. Observing scheduled work times.

    9. Conducting physical inventories when needed.

    10. Handling problem customers in a respectful manner.

    11. Cross training to sell in other retail outlets.

    12. Directing customers to the appropriate merchandise, providing them with adequate information (current trends, technical details, fabric characteristics, boot technology, etc.) to make a satisfactory purchase.

    13. Accepting payment efficiently, with courtesy and diplomacy, entering the appropriate form of payment in the cash register, counting change properly, and verifying any credit card transactions.

    14. Balancing the cash register by counting the cash drawer at both the beginning and the end of the work shift following current policies and procedures.

    Lift Operator (Full-Time, Seasonal)

    WINTER 26/27: Lift Operators are responsible for operating chairlifts and conveyor lifts in accordance with department policies and training programs, as well as validating lift tickets and managing traffic flow around lift stations. Lift Operators perform and document routine inspections and checks; operate the lift’s controls; monitor, assist, and direct passengers during loading, riding, and unloading of lifts; monitor lift machinery for abnormal operations; and respond appropriately to emergency situations. Additionally, Lift Operators ensure guests have a valid lift ticket to ride the lift; perform basic troubleshooting of ticket issues; and manage traffic through lift queue areas. Lift Operators use a variety of hand and power tools such as shovels, rakes, snowblowers, drills, picks, and ice chippers to maintain snow surfaces around lift stations and on loading/unloading platforms. Lift Operators interact with guests to provide exceptional guest service.

    1. Reports to work in appropriate uniform and follow grooming/appearance standards.

    2. Attend daily meetings and participate in safety discussions and training.

    3. Ensures that mechanical components of the lift are functioning properly by checking and performing routine inspections and notifying Lift Maintenance personnel of abnormalities.

    4. Perform routine inspections and complete checklist tasks to prepare lifts for passenger operations. 

    5. Set up lift mazes at the beginning of each day and assist with maintenance of the maze area throughout the day. Disassemble and store maze materials at the end of the day.

    6. Maintains snow surfaces around lift mazes, loading areas, terminal areas, unloading ramps, and operator stations utilizing a variety of hand and power tools. Common tools include shovels, scoops, rakes, ice picks, pickaxes, power drills, snowblowers, etc.

    7. Monitors the condition of the loading/unloading ramps throughout the operating day and perform maintenance and repair as needed.

    8. Operates lifts according to established procedures outlined in the Lift Operations Manual and training programs. 

    9. Understands the use of the lift’s controls, fault displays, and emergency procedures. Be able to clearly communicate fault indications and information to the dispatcher and Lift Maintenance personnel. 

    10. Assists and directs passengers during queuing, loading, riding, and unloading lifts. Responds appropriately to passengers needing assistance, slowing or stopping the lift if necessary.

    11. Assists guests unloading the lift by visually observing and monitoring the unloading station and providing verbal instructions when needed.

    12. Retrieves dropped skis, poles, clothing or other belongings for guests. 

    13. Monitors operation of the lift and communicate concerns or problems to supervisors and Lift Maintenance personnel. 

    14. Be prepared to identify and react to potential emergency situations according to emergency procedures.

    15. Utilizes telephones, two-way radios and lift intercom systems to communicate between lift stations, supervisors, Lift Maintenance personnel and mountain dispatch. 

    16. Provides superior service to our guests and fellow employees by greeting, interacting, answering questions and providing resort information.

    17. Denies passenger access to the lift according to established procedures. 

    18. Ensures lift passengers have a valid lift ticket by monitoring RFID gates.

    19. Monitors LaneWatch tablet PC’s to screen potential fraudulent ticket use and prevent guests from accessing lifts without valid tickets or passes. Refuse lift loading to guests without a valid ticket. Identifies guests who are experiencing difficulty passing through an access gate, greet the guest and provide basic troubleshooting to determine if the guest has a valid ticket or pass.

    20. Gains and uses an understanding of different ticket and pass product types and potential problems with each type of ticket. 

    21. Learns the common fault indications of the RFID gates and follow established procedures to perform basic troubleshooting and repair. 

    22. Conducts lift maze traffic controlling as skier volume dictates. Ensure orderly and fair lift line flow is established and maintained. 

    23. Responds to all guests and employees in a courteous and professional manner. 

    24. Positively contributes to the team effort by assisting other staff as needed.

    25. Performs closing procedures by clearing all riders from the lift and completing lift shutdown procedures. 

    26. Participates in incident investigations by filling out incident reports.

    27. Completes required documentation of daily lift operations, including inspection reports, stop logs and checklists. 

    28. Skis/rides in a safe and responsible manner while moving between workstations.

    29. Communicates on-mountain travel routes with supervisors and mountain dispatch as needed and respond appropriately to on-mountain incidents.

    3. Checks in all new merchandise, stocks shelves, arranges windows and other displays throughout the store.

    11. Balancing the cash register by counting the cash drawer at both the beginning and the end of the work shift following current policies and procedures.

    SUMMARY  

    WINTER 26/27: Responsible to keep guest rooms and public areas clean and comfortable. Also responsible to help create a positive environment for internal and external guests at Grand Targhee Resort and Property Management.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Including the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

    1. Clean guest room and public areas according to resort procedures. 

    2. Keep closets clean and organized. 

    3. Keep hallways and floors clean and free of trash.

    4. Wash, dry and put away dishes in lodging units with kitchenettes. 

    5. Use proper care in handling and operating equipment. 

    6. Stock carts/baskets. 

    7. Keep chemical bottles filled with correct product. 

    8. Maintain high standards for quality. 

    9. Help maintain inventory of housekeeping items and inform supervisors of supply needs. 

    10. Must complete assigned rooms in a timely manner to ensure that all rooms are ready for guest check in at 4:00 p.m. 

    11. Must adhere to safety standards by wearing protective gloves and back brace when required.

    13. Property Management Housekeepers are required to drive the company vehicle and meet insurance qualifications.

    WINTER 26/27: Safely fit skis and snowboards to customers and convey information to ensure proper use of the items.

    6. Inform guests of options/prices available for ski and snowboard rentals.

    10. Performs daily audit.

    11. Understands resort liability as it pertains to rentals.

    SUMMARY

    Assists in supervising staff by making sure that policies and procedures are followed. Maintains a high-quality operation by monitoring employees' job productivity and assists in training and scheduling.     10. Provides input on menus, specials, events, and animated evenings.

    11. Choose a product that compliments service and quality objectives, but also considers costs.
