About Glacier Raft Company

Glacier Raft Company is Montana's longest-running rafting and fishing outfitter, located a half-mile from the west entrance of Glacier National Park in the bustling seasonal community of West Glacier. Founded in 1976 by a bold couple with a plan, we've thrived on the cool, clear waters of the Flathead River. We are now proud to be a part of the Glacier Park Collection and look forward to continuing our reputation for safety and excellence.

We're a rafting and fishing operation at our core, but we have a few things up our sleeve. Glacier Outdoor Center is our outdoor retail location and Fly Shop.  We operate on 60 acres over overlooking GNP. We have cabin rentals, a lodge, wedding venue, and stocked trout ponds on property.

The Employee Experience

We value hard working, fun loving individuals that want to share their enthusiasm for the area with our guests.  Glacier National Park and the Flathead Valley are the perfect place for work and play. The company, the seasonal community, and the geography of the area make for quite the summer experience.  We're a company that takes pride in referring to our coworkers as family.

Ideal Candidate

If you bring the desire to work hard and play harder, you'll be a perfect fit for Glacier Raft Company. Positive attitude, work ethic, outgoing personality, and flexibility are all key! We are looking for team members who get along well with others and who are looking for a rewarding summer work experience.

Room and Board

We are proud to offer complimentary housing to each and every team member. Housing is available on property and is seniority based and ranges from private rooms, shared rooms, or dorm-style units.  We have some of the best housing facilities in the area. Each housing assignment has access to electricity, water, bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry.

We also have a limited amount of camper sites if you have a rig you'd like to pull in with. Our campground is for hard shell campers only - sorry, no tents! While we don't have full hookups for each campsite and some sites are 'primitive', shared bathrooms/showers are located in nearby dorms for campers. We also have a location that works great for van lifers and folks with self supported rigs!

Living on our property should definitely be considered a shared living experience, but is one of the most rewarding aspects of the gig!

Employee Perks

At Glacier Raft Company we've got some great employee perks

  • Prodeals on outdoor gear
  • Free lunch when on shift!
  • Free Gear Rentals at GOC
  • Limited number of Free Rafting passes for Friends and Family
  • Company Events & Engagement
  • After-hours use of company equipment (Fishing Boats, Rafts, Inflatable Kayaks, etc)
  • Discounts at other Glacier Park Collection properties on lodging, retail, and food & beverage.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Team member orientation is held 3 times a week at 9am (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) during May and June at Grouse Mountain Lodge in Whitefish. We are happy to offer discounted rooms for employees the night before your orientation. If you are flying in without transportation, we can arrange to pick you up and arrange shuttles to Glacier Raft Company after orientation

Walking and biking are easy methods of transportation in the West Glacier area, but to unlock the full potential of Glacier National Park a vehicle is suggested.  Grocery stores are located in Hungry Horse and Columbia Falls, 15 or 20 minutes drive from West Glacier.  All employee housing is on property and the need for a vehicle to get to work isn't necessary if you're living in company housing.

For Fun

Our team members are not sitting around on their days off.  Glacier and the Flathead Valley offer myriad opportunities for day hiking, backpacking, peak bagging, rafting, fishing, and all manner of other outdoor activities. To get the best out of this experience, you've gotta get out there and seek it!
