Getting Here and Getting Around

The company provides transportation to and from the airport and bus depot for pick up and drop off at the beginning and end of the work season.

The airport closest to the property is Rapid City Regional Airport, and the Jefferson Bus Depot is located in the Milo Barber Transportation Center. We will help coordinate an employee shuttle from the airport and bus depot for transportation to the work location. Pick up and drop off will be at the beginning and end of the work seasons. 

You are also welcome to drive to the park, but please note that parking may be limited during the spring and summer seasons. 

While working at the Park, we will have shuttle services available to take you to your work location, as well as have planned activities that will take you into nearby communities.

    Summary of Position:

    Responsible for serving food and/or beverages in a timely, friendly and efficient manner in the company’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service.


    Responsibilities:

    • Accurately take orders from guests, submit to kitchen using Point-of-Sales (POS) software, deliver food and drinks, bus tables or assist busser/runner

    • Knowledge of restaurant and bar menu promotions and specials

    • In an honest and timely manner, prepare checks, process credit cards, accept and make accurate change for cash payments

    • Set tables, polish glasses, prepare workstations and other side work as assigned

    • Accurately prepare sales and tip reports at shift’s end, deposit cash and credit card receipts

    Retail Manager

    Summary of Position:

    Responsible and accountable for the successful operation of the Retail Store at the Company ensuring sales goals are met, inventory levels are appropriate, receiving is handled in a timely and accurate manner and all customer service standards are met in accordance with company policies and procedures. Effective and timely training, coaching and mentoring of all retail staff members to improve skills and quality of customer service.  

    This position will have direct reports.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide leadership within the retail and receiving environment to maintain the consistent delivery of excellent products & services and uphold the highest level of guest and employee satisfaction

    • Maximize financial performance and profit within the retail stores by supporting and executing the business plan with a focus on fiscal responsibility, effective employee recruitment, hiring and training and meeting the highest standards of quality

    Summary of Position:

    Work in close collaboration with the Retail Manager to ensure that the retail business at all locations operates in an efficient and seamless manner while following all company policies and procedures to ensure an extraordinary experience for all Park visitors.


     

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist with training of retail staff and backup Retail Manager on days off

    • Demonstrate knowledge of merchandise, styling and pricing according to the company’s policies and procedures

    • Maintain knowledge of product lines with an emphasis on local and regional facts to assist other staff and customers

    Summary of Position:

    Assist all guests and visitors of the Company with timely, efficient and professional service adhering to Company standards of ensuring an extraordinary hospitality experience.

    Summary of Position: 

    Assist the F&B Manager with all daily responsibilities pertinent to the front of house operations to ensure that the goal of providing extraordinary hospitality to all guests of the restaurant is achieved. 

    Responsibilities: 

    • Assist the F&B Manager in overseeing all aspects of the front-of-house operation

    • Ensure that the Host/Hostess area is clean and always organized, and assist them during peak and busy periods.

    Summary of Position:                                                                                                                    
    Responsible for overseeing all projects related to the construction and maintenance of all buildings and landscape activities as identified in the Company’s government contracts.


    Responsibilities:                                                                                               In conjunction with Maintenance Director and property GMs/Maintenance Managers, identify annual projects and associated budgets, timing and reporting to ensure contract adherence;

    • Lead the planning, execution and tracking of all company-wide projects;

    • Work closely with property Maintenance Managers and GMs to ensure project priorities are understood and implemented per appropriate timelines;

    • Oversee project close-outs and ensure appropriate reporting and follow-up;

    • Possess strong working knowledge of  CMMS to ensure consistent accuracy for all projects;

    • Ensure that all paperwork related to every project is thoroughly completed and reviewed for accuracy;

    • Possess hands-on experience and understanding of general carpentry, painting, plumbing, minor electrical, masonry, landscaping maintenance, etc.

    Summary of Position:
    Performing close of day scenarios for the Front Office while performing overnight front desk services.


    Responsibilities:

    • Follow all specified procedures to audit the shift closing of all front office staff, including personally closing shift three and completing an audit summary of each shift.

    • Produce accurate and timely reports and correctly handle all cash transactions.

    • Follow all specified procedures to maintain and post a daily balance of all house accounts, including running preliminary reconciliations, detail transactions and final reports to accounting and profit centers.

    • Balance and audit for accurate room revenue, food and beverage revenue, cashier’s reports, and guest and house accounts and telephone revenue, assisting the preparation of all reports relevant to daily revenues.

    • Balance, audit for accuracy and transmit credit card batches.

    • Complete and transmit daily management and accounting reports and supporting documents.

    • Act as Manager on Duty during overnight hours.

    • Perform all Front Desk Attendant functions as required including but not limited to; assist in room reservations, guest check in/out, answering hotel phone calls, and notifying guests of messages.

    Maintenance Manager

    Summary of Position:
    Responsible for ensuring all goals and objectives of the Maintenance Department are achieved in a timely, cost-effective and quality-oriented manner.  Must be adept at managing budgets, leading and developing maintenance staff into a strong performing team and possess the ability to complete a variety of maintenance tasks.


    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure that all maintenance team members are properly qualified and trained for their various assignments

    • Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment by following established inspection procedures

    • Must be capable of “hands on repairs” in most maintenance disciplines and be available to assist other maintenance staff with related tasks such as general painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, concrete, heating, welding, roofing and other related jobs including landscaping and care and maintenance of all restroom facilities.

    • Perform assigned maintenance and mechanical duties for buildings and associated facilities, furnishings and equipment

    • Comply with industry safety standards and procedures to ensure all maintenance staff perform job duties properly, including lifting, climbing, etc.

    • Polite, knowledgeable and timely customer service when responding to visitor inquiries

    • Understand the Company’s ISO (Quality and Environmental) management systems, policies, goals, and initiatives and meet the specific responsibilities within these areas

    • Operate and maintain a computer-based planned preventative maintenance program for building equipment and maintenance and repairs scheduling.

    Summary of Position
    The Maintenance Lead/CMMA Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for the organization. This includes overseeing the implementation, configuration, and customization of the system to meet the needs of the organization. The CMMA Administrator will also be responsible for training and supporting users of the system, as well as ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage and maintain the CMMS system

    • Implement, configure, and customize the system to meet organizational needs

    • Train and support users of the system

    • Ensure data accuracy and integrity

    • Develop and maintain system documentation and procedures

    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure system integration and functionality

    The Lodging Manager is responsible for assisting in the overall management and coordination of Front Desk, Housekeeping, Laundry, Room Revenue, and Public Areas Departments to deliver an exceptional guest experience.     Responsibilities:

    Summary of Position:

    Effectively recruits, books and manages tour groups and Foreign International Travelers (FITs and Groups) and works closely with other departments to provide extraordinary hospitality to all visitors and guests.     Title: Camp Host 

    Reports To: District Manager Department: Operations 

    Summary of Position                                                                                     

    Ensure the Campgrounds are effectively maintained to protect the natural environment and ensure a clean and safe environment for all visitors

    Responsibilities                                                                                                In an honest and ethical manner, collect camping and vehicle fees for visitors as well as money from fee tubes (if applicable)

    • Clean bathrooms, camp sites, fire rings and any other assigned areas in a manner consistent with company expectations

    • Consistently dispose of trash and maintain receptacles

    • Report any needs related to minor building or equipment repair to supervisor

    • Replace light bulbs and supplies in buildings including in bathrooms

    • Maintain environment in a neat manner by cutting grass, trimming shrubs and trees and watering plants. Perform other campground duties related to maintaining a neat and clean appearance

    • Immediately report any maintenance concerns or unsafe conditions or needed repairs to the maintenance supervisor

    • Other duties as requested

    Requirements                                                                                                          Possess upbeat and professional verbal and written communication skills

    • Must be a positive team player with a can-do attitude

    • Must be organized and able to adhere to schedules

    • Must represent the Company and Park/Forest in a professional manner by wearing a company uniform, name badge, etc.

    • Must be able to lift up to 25-30 pounds occasionally

    • Understand and perform basic math

    • Must be able to bend, twist, squat and stand on feet for up to 8-10 hours per day

    Summary: As a Cook, you will prepare food items in accordance with corporate recipes and established standards in the company’s efforts to deliver extraordinary hospitality.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist the F & B Manager and Lead cook in ensuring that the menu, which cannot be changed without corporate F&B approval, and guest service expectations as set forth by the employee handbook are being met or exceeded.

    • Adhere to defined company recipes and safe food handling procedures to deliver an exceptional guest experience

    • Complete all required food and safety logs in a timely and efficient manner per company procedures and federal, state, and local regulations

    • Cook and prepare food / meals as required

    • Work individually and with the team to surpass expectations in an efficient, motivated, and positive can-do manner.

    • Provide timely, courteous, and professional service to all guests

    • Follow all health and safety standards, policies, and initiatives

    • All other duties as may be assigned

    Requirements

    • Knowledge of food preparation and storage, sanitation requirements and commercial kitchen equipment

    • Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – must be able to read, write and speak English

    • Majority of shift will be spent on feet in a fast-paced environment and in proximity of other people. Must be able to carry up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Frequent bending, twisting, lifting, and squatting will be required.

    • ServSafe and / or state food handler certification

    • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

    Education & Experience
    Education:    High School Diploma or equivalent
    Experience:  1 year minimum culinary training / experience
