$27.50 per hour includes wages of $26.00 per hour plus $1.50 per hour in event commissions
Sick pay in first year; paid time off thereafter

WHAT YOU WILL DO (JOB SUMMARY)
The Group & Events Manager is the leader of our on site events. The Group & Events Manager leads planning and coordination for group and wedding events throughout the year while working closely with our Group & Events Director. Our property puts on 15-20 weddings each year for 75-250 guests, as well as a host of reunions and specialty events. The Ranch seeks to expand its specialty, incentive & corporate group business, focused on events of 10-250 people.
The Group & Events Manager role is ideal for someone who is excited to work with groups from beginning to end, and who enjoys being involved not only in the planning but in realizing the event vision as well. The Events manager is supported in executing all events by the Ranch’s experienced operations team.
The right person for this role has event management experience and enjoys creating customized rather than cookie cutter events. With 20 acres in an old growth forest, our array of public facilities and dining areas and our guided recreation department, and with Yosemite at our doorstep, opportunities to create amazing events are endless. For the right creative, energized, nature loving person, this is a dream job.
The role is very self-directed and is ideal for a talented individual who enjoys direct outreach, guest contact and varied responsibilities, and who possesses strong communication and organizational skills. The position is right for someone who's excited to promote a unique mountain resort like ours to a targeted set of users who value the warm, down-home, yet professional experience of the Ranch, as well as its combination of timeless feel with modern comforts and its special mix of recreation, relaxation and indulgence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Corporate group planning
Wedding planning, including rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception
Special event planning
Coordination room blocks, deposits, etc.
Coordinating tastings and menu planning
Coordinating group recreation and other special needs
Day of event execution including; working with and communicating to department managers leading up to event execution, support in any moment-to-moment issues, ensuring accurate billing, and being present to work with guests to ensure their needs are met.
Managing and maintaining catering inventories
Ranch-wide special events like holidays
Communicate professionally at all times with all staff and management
Support team members and interns while fostering a positive work environment
Work safely, address/report safety issues, and use proper personal protective equipment
Comply with work shift schedules and break requirements
Perform other duties as assigned, including additional Ranch support as needed
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED; college degree a plus
Some prior work experience in event management; hospitality preferred
Wedding or similar high-end events experience
Experience successfully living/working in rural/remote environment preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical environment requires employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions, and to adhere to departmental uniform standards
Frequent walking, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, sitting, climbing stairs
Ability to stand and move continuously
Lifting up to 50 pounds and moving carts weighing 300 pounds
Working with required chemicals and PPE
Shifts of up to 8 hours per day, plus periodic additional overtime hours and help covering additional shifts when needed
