About Elkins Resort on Priest Lake

We offer a positive upbeat environment located in a pristine wilderness lakefront setting. We are looking for outgoing energetic people to interact with our customers to provide an outstanding vacation.

Many of our summer staff are college students and are eager to participate in group activities. We invite you to become a part of our team here at Elkins Resort on Priest Lake.

The Employee Experience

Being an employee at Elkins Resort is an amazing experience.  You meet people from all over the country, even other countries.  Find like minded friends to go for a hike, find new single track trails to ride your bike, or watch for shooting stars and the northern lights by the campfire.

Our crew works hard and plays hard.  We expect to give a great customer experience along with a great summer experience.  Elkins Resort sits on 30 acres of forested land right on Priest Lake.  We have white sand beaches, incredible mountain views and endless exploring to do.

Our staff can take out canoes, kayaks and stand up paddle boards for free.  The water is comfortable swimming temperatures during the summer months and is clean and clear.  If you like the outdoors, Elkins Resort is for you!  See you this summer.

Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate is someone who is willing to work hard, but also play hard.  We are located in one of the most beautiful spots in the world and want all of our employees to enjoy what nature has surrounded us with.

Our summer season is extremely busy though, and we need employees who are willing to work in whatever department is necessary to help out and keep things running smooth.  We prefer candidates who are hardworking, outgoing, easy to get along with (and live with), who are willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, and who will appreciate the outdoors so they can better serve the guests who are coming to the area for that reason.  Most of our guests are returning, and we have built a long-standing relationship with them - so we want people that can fit not only our criteria of a good employee, but also theirs as well.

Room and Board

Employee housing is part cabins, part 8×12 bunk houses and for the adventurous we have a group camp site. We provide bedding in employee housing but not for the camp sites.  Housing includes kitchens with dishes, bathrooms with showers. Rent is $150 per pay period and is deducted from the paycheck.  Space is limited, so get your application in early.

Employee Perks

Most seasonal employees work five days a week, with two days off during their work weeks, leaving plenty of time for fun. Seasonal bonuses are available for those who fulfill their contracts. Employees receive 30% off meals and in the gift shop.  Rental equipment (canoes, kayaks, paddle boards) can be checked out for free. Local fishing guides are happy to take you out early in the season to show you all about Priest Lake fishing.

Getting Here and Getting Around

There is no public transportation at Priest Lake.  It is ideal to have your own transport.  We are 90 miles from Spokane, Washington, and 40 miles from the nearest “town” of Priest River, Idaho.  Area businesses include restaurants, marinas, gift shops and small grocery stores.  Elkins has free wireless internet, espresso and sits right on the sandy shores of Priest Lake.

For Fun

There are endless amounts of water sports, hiking, biking and mountain climbing.  Hook up with locals that have boats on the lake to wakeboard, waterski or surf.  Bring your mountain bike for endless trails and roads to explore.  Star gazing is amazing with no city lights to block out your favorite constellation or northern lights. Beach fires and 'smores are a must!
