Eagle Nest Lodge is seeking an exceptional management couple to live on-site and lead the day-to-day operation of our distinctive fly-fishing and wingshooting lodge on Montana's legendary Bighorn River.
This is a year-round opportunity designed for two people with complementary skills who want more than traditional hospitality jobs. We're looking for a couple who will become the stewards of Eagle Nest Lodge — welcoming our guests, managing the business, caring for the property and dogs, and helping us build one of the West's most memorable sporting-lodge experiences.
Two complementary roles. One management team.
One member of the couple will primarily focus on hospitality, reservations and administration. This includes managing reservations and guest communications, coordinating guest itineraries and activities, check-in/check-out, hosting and guest engagement, bookkeeping and QuickBooks, accounts payable/receivable, vendor coordination, guest records, marketing and social media, and helping ensure an exceptional experience from the first inquiry through departure.
The other will primarily focus on outfitting, sporting and property operations. We are particularly interested in someone with significant fly-fishing experience who can guide or fill in when necessary. Wingshooting, outfitting and bird-dog experience are highly desirable. Responsibilities include coordinating guides and sporting activities, assisting with fly-fishing and wingshooting operations, caring for lodge dogs, maintaining vehicles and equipment, and handling or coordinating routine property and grounds maintenance.
While each manager will have primary areas of responsibility, this is very much a team. During our active season, both managers should be comfortable stepping in wherever needed — hosting guests, assisting with meal service, solving a property issue, coordinating an unexpected change in plans or simply spending time with guests after a great day on the river.
Our season has a unique rhythm.
Eagle Nest Lodge's primary guest season runs April 15 through November 15. During these months, the position is active, hands-on and highly guest-focused.
From mid-November through mid-April, the lodge transitions into its off-season. The pace changes substantially, with the focus shifting toward reservations, marketing, guest communications, bookkeeping and administration, property projects and maintenance, dog care, and preparation for the upcoming season.
We're hiring now so our new management couple can spend the final weeks of the 2026 season learning the lodge while it is operating — meeting our team, guides and vendors; becoming familiar with our guests, dogs and property; and experiencing firsthand how Eagle Nest operates before transitioning into the winter planning period.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for a couple whose skills complement one another and who genuinely enjoy hospitality, the sporting life, dogs and the outdoors.
Previous experience in a fishing or hunting lodge, guest ranch, outfitting operation, boutique hotel, resort or other high-touch hospitality environment is strongly preferred. At least one member of the couple should bring strong hospitality, organizational and administrative skills. The other should ideally bring substantial fly-fishing and outdoor experience, with the ability to guide when needed.
Above all, we're looking for people who take ownership. You notice the details. You anticipate what guests need. You take pride in the property. You solve problems rather than walking past them. And you understand that at a great lodge, genuine hospitality often happens in the moments that aren't written in a job description.
Compensation & lifestyle
This is a year-round, salaried position for a management couple, with a combined annual salary beginning at $100,000, depending upon experience.
Private on-site housing is provided at no cost.
The position offers the opportunity to live and work in an extraordinary Montana setting, enjoy direct access to one of America's great trout fisheries, participate in the fly-fishing and wingshooting lifestyle, and help shape the future of Eagle Nest Lodge.
Eagle Nest Lodge is part of Primal Collection, an emerging outdoor hospitality concept built around exceptional sporting experiences, authentic hospitality, conservation, dogs and reconnecting people with the natural world.
For the right couple, this isn't simply another lodge job. It's an opportunity to make Eagle Nest Lodge your home, take real ownership of the guest experience and help us build something exceptional.
