About Denali Raft Adventures

Established in 1974 the 1st rafting company to operate on the Nenana River at the entrance to Denali National Park. Locally family owned and operated.

We make every effort to provide our guests with adventure, laughter, and fun creating a memory that will last for the rest of their lives!

The Employee Experience

The biggest perk of being in Denali National Park is that you're in Denali National Park! We are in a remote area of Alaska with unparalleled beauty regardless of month or weather. There are trails into the Alaskan wilderness that lead out of our camp located just minutes from the Denali National Park entrance. This is definitely a place for any lover of wilderness.

We are a tight knit community, not just a work crew. This company operates on a small team of around 30 members and provides priceless memories to thousands every summer. Each team member is regarded as an important part of the operation and always has an open line of communication to management. Our camp is inclusive to all and welcomes everyone's unique talents and interests. We provide a full kitchen, utilities, laundry, living room with a smart TV, ping-pong, basketball hoop, and volleyball net.

Up here we have plenty of room to play, come up and join us!

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for raft guides, reservation staff, CDL Drivers and Retail Sales employees who are team players, enjoy the outdoors, are punctual, friendly, out going, hard working, energetic, enthusiastic, and professional, willing make a commitment to providing the best possible service  for our customers. Our goal is to make happy rafters out of as many people as possible in the safest fun and efficient way possible.

All employees must be 21 years of age and have at least three years driving experience with no more than two minor driving violations and be able to pass a physical exam as mandated by the Federal Department of Transportation.

Room and Board

Denali Raft Adventures, Inc. Housing: It consists of rustic dormitory style rooms at $138 per month in iconic Alaska ATCO units. You will have your own room within walking distance distance to the "Cook Shack". Some classic travel trailers maybe available at a slightly higher rate, though returning employees get first pick. After that it is first come, first serve. There is a common kitchen, with two common showers, TV room, wi-fi and clothes washer and dryer.

Food and Kitchen: As mentioned, there is a communal kitchen in our Cook Shack. It is outfitted with an industrial oven, sink, & several refrigerators/freezers. There are plenty of cups, plates, & cutlery at your disposal, in addition to little creature comforts like a panini press, rice cooker, microwave, & a standup/immersion blender.

The nearest convenience/liquor store is 8 miles to the north, and the nearest grocery store is about 20 miles up the highway. For all of the big-chain grocery and general stores you'd go to Fairbanks, roughly 2 hours away. There are often runs to the "big city" to do your larger shopping, and many smaller runs to the local convenient store and grocer. There is plenty of storage for both dry and cold storage goods.

Employee Perks

The first perk of living & working in Denali National Park is that you live & play in Denali National Park! Beyond that we work hand-in-hand with many of the other outdoor rec companies, allowing you to do tons of the activities in the area tourists have to pay top dollar for. These include ATV'ng, jeep tours, and even flight-seeing around Mt. Denali! Beyond that there are endless hiking trails right out our back door.

You can get a discount from some of the local restaurants and stores, like the Thai & Chinese restaurant and Mountain Works gear shop.

It's beautiful up here, the water is big and so is the endless wilderness.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Our housing facilities are located at mile post 230, 128 miles south of Fairbanks and 230 miles north of Anchorage on the George Parks Highway.  The office is located at mile 238.5 about 3/4 of a mile north of the entrance to  Denali National Park and Preserve.

Starting from approximately May 20th, there is daily motor coach and railway service from Fairbanks to Anchorage. Most major airlines fly to  Anchorage International Airport with connections to Fairbanks. If you have your own vehicle, the driving time from Anchorage is approximately five hours and approximately two hours from Fairbanks.

For Fun

Whitewater rafting needs to be listed first! But there is also plenty of hiking & camping,  limited fishing, berry picking in season, the shuttle bus wildlife viewing in Denali National Park and helicopter tours or flight-seeing tours around Mt. McKinley and the Denali Park area. Evening activities include board games, movies, basketball, ping-pong, and frisbee.
