Denali Park Adventures is a locally owned adventure tour company located just outside the entrance to Denali National Park. Denali Park Adventures is the ultimate source of adventure for all ages and all skill levels, in single, family, or group travel.

About Denali Park Adventures

At Denali Park Adventures, we aim to capture the Denali spirit through premier guided adventures. We operate three outdoor adventure companies:

  • Denali ATV Adventures: guided ATV tours in the Alaska backcountry
  • Denali Jeep Excursions: guided, scenic Jeep tours along the Denali Highway & Jeep Rentals
  • Denali Park Zipline: thrilling zipline tours through the boreal forest

The Employee Experience

Working at Denali Park Adventures, each staff member will have the opportunity to live, work, and play right outside the 3rd largest national park in America, which is home to the largest mountain in North America! After your adventure-filled day of working alongside like-minded staff, you will have plenty of time to explore, hike, camp and many other activities under the midnight sun of Alaska.

Room and Board

Denali Park Adventures has 3 Staff Campuses:

Otto Lake Road Campus: This dormitory-style housing sits next to Otto Lake in Healy, Alaska. The main 2-story house has 15 bedrooms and 4 private bathrooms.  Additionally, there are 7 dry cabins. Kitchens and commons are in a separate building. 

McKinley Village Campus: Located 10 miles south of the Denali National Park main entrance. The housing is one story, complete with several bedrooms, 2 private bathrooms, and a common kitchen and living room. 

Hilltop Road Campus: This dormitory-style housing is in Healy, Alaska, just down the street from Otto Lake.  This campus has 3 groups of rooms and 5 private bathrooms. Kitchens and commons are in a separate area.

All facilities include full restrooms, running water, on-site laundry, wireless internet, TV, yard and deck with firepit, grills, and outdoor games. Although meals are not included, kitchens have ample cooking equipment, counter space, and appliances. Food can be purchased at Three Bears Grocery in Healy. There is a minimal housing rate that includes all utilities. Most rooms are single occupancy (no roommates!) but couples housing is also available. All staff living on-site must sign a housing agreement.

If sharing housing with other employees doesn’t sound ideal to you, or you travel with an animal friend, you will need to look for alternative housing. Local cabin rentals (not associated with Denali Park Adventures) may be available and you will have to provide your own transportation to work.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Denali Park Adventures can help you plan your transportation to and from Alaska. The easiest and most economic option is to fly into Anchorage and take either the train or shuttle bus to Denali/Healy. We will pick you up at the local train station or bus drop-off. Our employees do receive a substantial discount on fare to Denali from the Alaska Railroad.

We provide a regular shuttle service around the Denali area. Denali National Park runs free and fee-based shuttles throughout the park for access to camping and hiking. Several other hotels and restaurants run free and fee-based shuttles in the Denali area.

Driving to Alaska with your own personal vehicle may allow you to pursue your own outdoors interests during days off or down time.

For Fun

The Midnight Sun allows for maximum use of the day! After a shift, spend time hiking in Denali National Park or go on an overnight camping trip! Drift lazily in Otto Lake or raft the Nenana River! Spend evenings around a bonfire, catch the northern lights, or dance to local music.

Other local attractions offer complimentary or discounted tours to local employees such as whitewater rafting on the Nenana River, ziplining over the boreal forest, riding Jeeps down the Denali Highway, meeting the puppies and Iditarod Champion sled dogs at the local kennel, flight seeing and helicopter tours with glacier landings around Denali, bus trips into the national park, etc.

Denali is a tight knit community full of amazing people from all over the world.  Not only is it an incredible gateway into seasonal living, but a place to make lifelong connections with fellow travelers.  The Denali area hosts celebrations all summer long including Halloween in July, music festivals around solstice, and regular themed parties at local watering holes!
