Room and Board
Dairymen's has staff cabins that were constructed only 3 years ago. They have shared bedrooms with a bathroom for each bedroom. There is a common space living room with satellite television and a kitchen. There is a laundry room in each cabin as well. Staff are provided with 3 meals per day which are taken in the staff cafeteria. Current pricing for room and board is $50 per week taken directly out of your paycheck. Bicycles are also provided if you would like to get a second job or take a ride into town (about a 20 minute ride).
Many parts of the property are available for Staff use as long as it does not interfere with Members. Staff can go hiking, biking, use kayaks, and paddleboards or play tennis or basketball. There is also a staff fitness room.
Bicycles are provided for travel into town or to use on the gravel roads on the property or the paved bicycle trails off-property. Vilas County has an extensive system of bike trails. We also try to organize trips off property for hiking or going to the movies. There is also usually a weekly trip into Minocqua to visit Walmart in case staff need to pick up supplies.
Getting Here and Getting Around
We recommend flying into Rhinelander or Wausau, WI or Ironwood, MI. We provide transportation from those airports to Dairymen's. There is no public transportation available due to the remote location of the property. Personal vehicles are not encouraged as we do not have much parking available. We do provide beach cruiser bicycles. If you would like to ship a personal bicycle you can use UPS or FedEx. The trail system in the county is outstanding.
