About Camp Pinnacle

Working at Camp Pinnacle is one of the most rewarding, challenging, and enjoyable ways to spend your summer. You will make a difference in the lives of children while building life skills in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.

Please check out this virtual tour of our camp property to see some of the many activities Camp Pinnacle offers!

Camp Pinnacle is unique in that we perfectly blend more than 50 traditional in-camp activities with off-camp outdoor adventures that expose campers to the incredible natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. While we are not a hardcore wilderness camp, all of our campers will have the chance to raft a river, witness astounding views from atop a mountain, and camp out overnight (with s’mores, of course!)—and all outdoor adventures are age-appropriate, where we work with kids at their own comfort and skill levels. Our goal is to fully engage campers as we introduce them to activities that can’t be easily done at home. We build a lifetime love of outdoor activities and for living in a community filled with friends.

The Employee Experience

Camp Pinnacle offers more than just a summer job – it's an opportunity to make a lasting impact on young lives while developing leadership skills and lifelong friendships.

Every staff member receives a CPR and Wilderness First Aid certification.  You are also able to receive a Red Cross Lifeguard, Challenge Course, Riflery, or Archery certification during our staff orientation - free of charge!

For all Trip Leaders leading overnight backpacking trips, we require a Wilderness First Responder.  If you currently hold this certification, you'll receive a very competitive bonus from us, and if you are looking to receive one, Camp Pinnacle overs roughly 60% of your tuition if you complete a contract with us!

Join a team of passionate individuals who share your commitment to creating exceptional experiences for children. When our staff feel valued, connected, and have fun, our campers feel it too!

Ideal Candidate

All applicants undergo an intensive interview process, including three director interviews. Our goal is not only to find out if you are the best fit for camp, but also to ensure that Camp Pinnacle is the best fit for you.

We collect three references and complete a background check.  All of our staff members must be at least 18 years old, been a part of a gap year, or completed a year of college. We are looking for applicants who are passionate about working with children, have a love and appreciation for the outdoors, and are able to thrive in an inclusive community with little time off and limited personal time!

Room and Board

We provide Room & Board and all meals while working for Camp Pinnacle.

Employee Perks

We offer industry competitive salaries, access to pro deals, housing, meals, certifications, and valuable work experience to all our staff members.

You'll also access everything our campers pay to experience!  White water rafting, backpacking, outdoor gear, and use of our activity areas, everything is open to our staff members.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Upon arrival, we will pick you up from the nearby airports if you choose to fly.  If you choose to bring a vehicle for the summer, we have our own parking lot you will park in, and are free to use it on off-days to explore everything Western North Carolina has to offer.

For Fun

Western North Carolina has plenty to offer.  Camp Pinnacle is a short drive away from places like DuPont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and much more!  We are also located near Hendersonville, Asheville, and Greenville, all areas to find good food, drinks, and activities.
