We are very flexible with positions and willing to work with you to accommodate your schedule and preferences. Our busy season starts in May and goes through the end of October. We are a full time, year round operation and stay busy throughout the year for those looking for full time, year round employment. Room and Board

We have housing available to our employees for $450/month/employee (based on availability). This is shared with other individuals (typically two employees per room within an apartment that has either two or three bedrooms). Each apartment will have a shared kitchen, living room and bathroom. No pets are allowed.

Cooking facilities are available in each apartment. There is a grocery store within walking distance or you can take our weekly shuttle to a bigger city with more options. We offer discounts in all of our restaurants as a benefit to employees.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Having your own vehicle can open up a few more possibilities for getting around. We do not have a lot of public transportation in our area but offer an employee shuttle on Tuesdays to go to the nearest large city (Duluth, MN) for a shopping run. Silver Bay and Grand Marais, MN offer plenty of grocery options for those who bring cars but we find that larger stores are more desired so we provide a shuttle to get to those for employees without cars.

If you are flying into Duluth, MN or arriving there by bus, we do provide transportation if arranged ahead of time. Our shuttle driver will meet you upon arrival and bring you up the shore.

For Fun

The North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota is basically a playground for the outdoor enthusiast. The area offers canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking and so much more. If you decide to stay through the winter, alpine skiing and snowboarding, XC skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, fat tire biking, Northern Lights and campfires are all within minutes of your doorstep. We would love to have you join our team and live in one of the most unique areas in the world. Who knows, maybe you will love it so much that you will decide to stay for a while!

    Job Title: Venue Coordinator

    Department: Food & Beverage

    Reports To: Food & Beverage Director

    Position Summary

    The Venue Coordinator is the on-site leader responsible for bringing weddings, corporate events, and special occasions to life. Acting as the primary event manager on the day of the event, this role oversees event operations, staff coordination, and guest experience to ensure every celebration is executed with excellence.

    This position is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys leading teams, solving problems, and creating memorable guest experiences. Successful candidates are organized, adaptable, detail-oriented, and willing to take ownership of both the planning and physical execution required to deliver successful events.

    Key Responsibilities

    Event Leadership & Coordination

    • Assume ownership of assigned events approximately 10 days prior to execution, reviewing all event details and logistics provided by the Food & Beverage Director.

    • Confirm final details with clients, vendors, and internal departments to ensure alignment and readiness.

    • Maintain event timelines, room diagrams, staffing plans, and operational schedules.

    • Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, vendors, and event staff throughout the event.

    • Ensure all event details are executed according to contract specifications and client expectations.

    • Anticipate challenges and proactively resolve issues while maintaining a positive guest experience.

    Team Leadership

    • Lead event staff through set-up, service, and tear-down operations.

    • Delegate responsibilities and provide direction to banquet servers, bartenders, and support staff.

    • Maintain a professional, team-oriented environment while ensuring service standards are met.

    • Assist with staff training and development as needed.

    Operations & Guest Experience

    • Oversee room setup, décor placement, equipment staging, and event readiness.

    • Maintain familiarity with audiovisual equipment and event technology in all venues.

    • Conduct venue tours and menu tastings for prospective and booked clients.

    • Complete post-event evaluations and communicate opportunities for improvement.

    • Assist with guest transportation and shuttle services as needed.

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Serve as Manager on Duty within Food & Beverage operations during non-peak event seasons when applicable.

    • Support departmental projects as assigned.

    • Maintain event spaces, storage areas, and equipment to Bluefin Bay Family of Resorts standards.

    Qualifications

    • One to three years of hospitality, event management, food & beverage, or related leadership experience preferred.

    • Valid United States driver's license preferred.

    • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

    • Ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

    • Ability to remain composed, professional, and solution-oriented in high-pressure situations.

    Maintenance

    Maintenance

    $20.00 / hour

    Wage goes up if you have a higher level of experience in certain areas of the role.

    SUMMARY OF ROLE

    Responsible for maintaining resort grounds daily along with supporting the general resort operations by assuring cleanliness and upkeep of resort. This position can include a variety of maintenance work. Experience with pools, pumps, electrical, plumbing, light carpentry, interior finishing, mechanical and equipment operation or repair are highly desired. An applicant does not need to have all of these skills but at least a few would allow an applicant to be considered.

    **We are looking for year round candidates for this position. Mainly hiring for full time but will also consider part time if you have your own housing.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements herein are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    Experience in at least two of the above skillsets would be required.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); prior maintenance work is preferred. Having the ability to learn is the main thing required for this position.

    COMMUNICATION SKILLS

    Individual must possess excellent interpersonal skills, good oral and written command of English. Ability to effectively present and respond to guests and management. Independent and quick to report all repairs in a timely manner. 

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as conversions and measurements.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands, handle tools and other light machinery. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position at times, due to the volume of business, may become high stressed. Exposure to the outdoors and various weather conditions regularly.

    Grille

    Bluefin Grille Line Cook (This position would start in June)

    SUMMARY

    To participate in the preparation of food at the Bluefin Grille. The employee will assemble items for various entrees to certain standards and specifications. A successful candidate will help fulfill our mission to deliver exceptional hospitality to all guests.

    SAMPLING OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepares and assembles various meal items in a timely manner

    • Follows instructions and recipes

    • Keeps a sanitary and organized workstation

    • Restocks items as needed

    • Uses and maintains cooking station and equipment

    • Assists with cleaning, sanitation and other organizational duties

    • Provides support to the cooking staff and preforms any additional tasks requested by the Grille Kitchen Manager.

    QUALIFICATIONS 

    ·         Full Understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.  

    ·         Full Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling      procedures.  

    ·         Professional communication skills are required.  

    ·         Ability to take direction.  

    ·         Ability to work in a team environment.  

    ·         Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.  

    ·         Ability to problem solve, be self-motivated and organized.  

    ·         Committed to quality service. 

    Education and Experience

    Must have knowledge of food preparation, sanitation standards, inventory and control systems or the ability and desire to learn.

    Communication Skills

    Verbal communication skills to interact with coworkers is a plus. Must be able to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions. 

    Physical Demands

    ·         Ability to speak and hear  

    ·         Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time 

    ·         Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds. (Assistance will be provided for heavy items.)

    ·         Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
