Big Sky Resort offers the opportunity to work in hospitality and play in the great outdoors. Situated in the Galllatin Mountain Range and the Spanish Peaks within the Rockies, the hikes and views are breathtaking. The Gallatin River runs through it (just ask Brad Pitt) and a day trip to Yellowstone National Park is easily arranged. 

Big Sky is a small town located in Southwest Montana with a permanent population of about 2,500 people. Big Sky is about half way between West Yellowstone and Bozeman. Bozeman, the closest major town, which has major shopping centers, great downtown area and a Costco (very important!) is approximately 50 miles from Big Sky Resort.

About Big Sky Resort

Big Sky Resort, home to the Biggest Skiing in America in the winter becomes home to big mountain biking in the summer. With over 5,800 acres, 4,350 ft vertical drop and the iconic Lone Peak at 11,166 feet towering over it all, the mountain offers challenging day hikes or amazingly long ski runs! Big Sky Resort is known for its consistent snow in the winter and abundance of summer activities.  A family-focused resort, we offer hotels, condos, cabins and individual homes that together sleep over 2,000 guests. Big Sky Resort has one of the largest convention centers in Montana, the Yellowstone Conference Center, hosting up to 750 people with state of the art services and impeccable event planning.

Season Dates:

The dates below are the Resort's opening and closing dates. Employees may be expected to arrive earlier for training and stay later for cleaning and closing the resort.

Winter 2018/2019: The lifts always start spinning on Thanksgiving Day. Hotel Operations and last day of the ski season: December 6th - April 21st.  

Summer 2018 Hotel Operations: Opening day is June 8th and closing day is September 28th.

Summer 2019 Hotel Operation dates are TBD. 

The Employee Experience

Winter seasons: 1500-1600 employees on staff. 

Summer seasons: 700-800 employees on staff. 

Big Sky Resort offers Seasonal employment as well as Full-Time Year-Round opportunities. 

Full-Time Year-Round employees are eligible for Health Insurance, Vision, Dental and Paid Time Off.

Seasonal employees can become eligible for Health Benefits depending on hours work over a one year time period.

Our ideal candidate is an adventurous and friendly individual that is ready to learn and share what they know. Many of our positions are entry level customer service. While previous customer service is not required, we do ask our candidates to understand the importance of creating exceptional experiences for our guests and to have the ability to do so.

Room and Board

Big Sky Resort offers employee housing to all full time seasonal or year-round employees. Think of it as a 'landing pad' before you find your own accommodation in the surrounding areas. Housing is offered only in Big Sky during summer season and in Big Sky and Bozeman during the winter season. All rooms are for two people so expect to have a roommate in a dormitory-style building. All rooms have a private bathroom, two twin size beds, microwave, refrigerator, television, and wireless internet.  

Living in employee housing offers a great opportunity to meet new people from all over the United States and the world. Cost per person is $10.00 to $12.00 per day with a $300.00 deposit. Rent is automatically deducted from paychecks. 

All housing options are located within walking distance to free transportation to Big Sky Resort either within Big Sky or from Bozeman to Big Sky.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Big Sky Resort is located in Big Sky, Montana. Big Sky is about 50 miles south from Bozeman and 50 miles north from West Yellowstone. 

Flying into Montana? Look up tickets to the Bozeman International Airport (BZN). You will need to arrange transportation from the airport to Big Sky Resort. 

There is a $5.00 bus that travels from Bozeman to Big Sky Resort (Skyline Bus Service: www.skylinebus.com). Once you arrive at and are employed by Big Sky Resort we will be able to give you a complimentary Skyline Bus pass. 

For Fun

Southwest Montana will be your playground.  Learn how to ski or snowboard in the winter and golf, fly fish, horseback ride, and mountain bike in the summer. The opportunities to learn are endless! Enjoy the wildflowers that pop up in spring and look out for all sorts of wildlife that calls Big Sky home.
