Are you an artist and educator who loves working with kids and living in nature? Come to camp this summer at Songadeewin on Lake Dunmore to teach art, drawing, ceramics, painting, and more to girls ages 8 to 15 in our Arts Village nestled into the woods. You can learn more about Songa here. Dates for this position are from June 15 - July 21 (with a possible extension through a full season of camp ending August 17).

A qualified candidate will have:

  • Excitement for & experience in teaching art to children and living in nature
  • Ability to thrive in a residential camp community for girls
  • Ability to design, prepare, instruct, and support campers and staff in age-appropriate activities
  • Passion for creating spaces for campers to tinker, make, and cultivate their creativity through multiple mediums and art forms
  • Team ethos - enjoy collaborating with fellow Songa staff to contribute to life in our camp community
  • Knowledge of/experience working with ceramics and kiln operation
  • Knowledge of/experience working with and sewing machine operation
  • Positive attitude, proactive, professional approach
  • Enthusiasm for the outdoors and an eagerness to embrace the mission of Keewaydin Foundation
  • Commitment to furthering outdoor learning opportunities and confidence building for girls community at Songadeewin
  • Ability to support and encourage staff and campers
  • Openness to new ideas and ways to improve current systems and communications

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to walk long distances across our 60 acre campus on uneven terrain to and from dining hall, Arts Village, cabins, and activities. 
  • Summer camp schedule requires 6 days on/1 day off per week.

Other Details: Rustic accommodations in a cabin or platform tent with electricity. Shared bathroom and shower nearby. Room and board is included.
