Lodge House Staff Full Time Housekeeper/ Server (Not an H2B Employer)

Position Description:

Fishing Creek Farms (FCF) is looking for one full-time person to join our dynamic team for the upcoming season.  Our House Staff positions are a unique blend of hospitality and guest services.  FCF offers a premier, private wingshooting experience with expert hospitality and gourmet cuisine, coupled with attentive service to create an intimate and personal feel.  Each of our staff members are important in developing this atmosphere. Our House Staff does a little of everything including serving meals, housekeeping, dishwashing, and helping in the kitchen. Willingness to be a team player is a must. Due to the short nature of our winter season, the ideal candidate should be able to maintain energy and enthusiasm through long days. A typical work day is 10.5 hours total after a 3-hour mid-day break. Room and Board are included at no extra charge. Salary is $2500 per month, plus a share in the tip pool. This is a contracted (1099-NEC) position. Pre-employment drug test is required. 

The Ideal Candidate:

• Is available from December 1- Mid March.
• Has some previous experience (or a desire to learn) with housekeeping/ serving/ kitchen help. 
• Is detail oriented, values high quality service and shows integrity at all times.

• Is energetic and has good time management skills.
• Has a strong work ethic and enthusiasm for guest service. 
• You are flexible, have multiple talents and enjoy working as a team with other like-minded hospitality professionals. 
• A teachable attitude as well as a willingness to share ideas that may help better the experience of our guests. 

Responsibilities:

Shifts begin at 7am and end approximately 9pm with a 3-hour mid-day break. Serving responsibilities include set-up and service of plated breakfast, lunch, appetizers and dinner. Keeping up with dishes as needed. Bartending experience is not required but would be beneficial. Light kitchen help during cocktail hour, as needed.  

Housekeeping responsibilities include high quality, consistent daily cleaning of guest rooms and all common areas. Keeping up with the washing and folding of all bed linens and towels. All staff are expected to work together to keep the entire kitchen and lodge work space clean, tidy, and efficiently organized. 

Each staff member is expected to keep their staff housing clean, tidy and in good repair. 

Upland Wingshooting Guide

Position Description:

Fishing Creek Farms welcomes applications for the position of upland wingshooting guide. While there are currently no vacancies, we encourage passionate individuals to submit their applications for future consideration. The ideal candidate should possess a comprehensive understanding of bird hunting with the use of point and flush dogs. Applicant should prioritize professionalism and positive client engagement, while ensuring a safe and enjoyable hunt.

This positions starts in early December, and runs thru mid-March. This position will operate in rotation with our existing guide staff.  Responsibilities include organizing and leading half and full-day upland quail hunts of the highest caliber. In addition to guiding, each outdoor staff member is expected to assist with kennel duties, bird cleaning and packaging, and other outside duties as they arise when not guiding.

Compensation includes a competitive salary based on experience and a share in the tip pool. All staff members are considered contractors and compensated on a 1099. Applicant will be provided on site housing (private room-single or double occupancy) with shared common area. Lunch and dinner are provided when guests are in-house. Outside staff are responsible for their own breakfast; however, ingredients are provided.  Given the shared areas of staff quarters, a positive attitude, teamwork and cleanliness are valued attributes.

 Applicants are expected to furnish their own guide gear, including boots, dog collars, and outerwear. FCF logo shirts and hats are provided. Dogs that are required for this position will be provided by lodge.  Fishing Creek Farms conducts background checks and drug testing prior to confirming a contract. Prospective candidates must demonstrate their abilities with the dogs and hunt organization skills with the Owner and a member of our guide staff. We WILL NOT hire this position without a face-to-face interview.

Responsibilities:

• Guiding clients on upland quail hunts
• Walking thru diverse terrain for up to 6 hours per day
• Lifting up to 60 pounds
• Handling and lifting bird dogs
• Fulfilling various guest needs
• Equipment cleaning and maintenance
• Care, feeding, cleaning of bird dogs and kennels
• Care, feeding, cleaning of birds and facilities
• Operating and assisting with 5-Stand operation and maintenance
• General tasks of a hunting loge operation
