Denali Preschool and Learning Center (DLPC) is looking for a passionate early learning professional to oversee operations at a unique rural Alaska child care center and its team of dedicated child care providers and educators. DPLC supports a vibrant local community as the primary source for quality, licensed childcare and a formal early learning programming in the area. This position will work alongside our new district partner in a collaborative preschool program and guide DPLC's staff and families into a new era as the center strategizes ideas and opportunities for the future.

The ideal candidate for DPLC is motivated and passionate about child development and learning and is an empathetic and supportive supervisor to our small, but dedicated staff. This individual should possess superior skills in time management and task completion, communication, and project management. Candidates should have knowledge in some of the following areas: early learning, child development, childcare services, grant writing and management, nonprofit management, and education.

Requirements by AK Department of Health for licensed childcare programs:

  • Applicant must be at least 21 years old
  • Must possess a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or qualifications to be designated as a Child Care Associate (CCA) through a related degree or 12 eligible credit hours (early education, child development, child psychology or related fields)
  • Employment is contingent upon passing a state background check

Benefits:

  • Childcare discount
  • Flexible schedule
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Paid training
  • Tuition reimbursement for related fields
  • More benefits may be available

The local area has amazing access to wilderness, and recreational opportunities are right out your back door, including proximity to Denali National park and Preserve. With major road access, our Alaskan community is a wonderful combination of rural and connected. Residents can usually get good cellphone reception and internet service; however, outdoor adventures are just a few steps away in your backyard.
