Camp Birch Hill

We are hiring for a seasonal Cook position with our small Kitchen Staff. Our camp runs for 7 weeks from late June to early August and our kitchen team is responsible for making meals for our community of around 225 children and staff members. Our leadership staff in the kitchen are very competent and kind. Those who apply should have some cooking experience. However, as a summer camp, we are very used to hiring and training young adults. So if you are interested in getting into the culinary field and have the right attitude, we will consider you.

The position has room and board provided for the duration. Your accommodations are a simple small bedroom (private) and a bathroom and screened-in porch that you share with the other 3 Kitchen Staff. You are expected to work 5-6 days per week during the summer and your duties will be determined daily by our Head Chef. They will include: preparing meals, cooking food, and cleaning cookware.

The most important qualities in an applicant for this role are being hardworking and easygoing. Our camp community is a really fun and supportive place to spend a summer and this is entirely due to our staff being on the same page. We all try to work together and not sweat the little things. If you are friendly and willing to do your part to make camp special for all of our campers, you will fit in great!
