Headwaters Cattle Ranch is seeking a ranch hand!

The ideal candidate first needs to be comfortable around large animals, so experience here is a must. Knowledge in the birthing of cattle, the after care of both mom and baby. knowledge of what to do in case of extreme birth where mother needs assistance and or calf. Knowledge in the calf process from birth to separation from mother, this includes castration and tagging. This candidate also must have the physical strength to be able to hold and control a 100lb animal. Also be willing to be in very close contact with 1200 lb animals, whether that is moving them through paddocks or assisting loading into trailers and moving from ranch to ranch. Willing to learn, being adaptable. This person needs to be a thinker and a problem solver, they will eventually spend a lot of time alone and will need to know what to do, or how to think their way through. Getting reinforcements on the phone is never guaranteed.

On a day-to-day basis through the summer the responsibilities would include checking water flows of Headwaters and all water flows and weirs in Salt Gulch. The know how to be able to step in and help or cover in Salt Gulch. Main responsibility would be moving cattle from paddocks, including the set up and take down of all lines and posts. Assisting in monitoring the birth of calves and the after care. Making sure all exterior fences are repaired. Being able to safely move animals as stress free as possible but also able to calmly catch and put them back in when they do get out, at times alone. Moving of water at headwaters either alone or with assistance in an efficient time. Knowledge of irrigation repairs from pvc to pressing a wheel line back together. The ability to be adaptable throughout the day to whatever is thrown at them. Daily duties could also include the operation of a tractor. From processing hay to cleaning corrals. The physical ability to be on their feet and moving whether that's hiking fence lines with tools or walking long distances changing water and moving animals. They will also need to be able to lift and carry at least 70lbs or more. Be adaptable to occasional long hours, mainly during hay time. 

Fall and Winter responsibilities would be helping with winterization of all ranches, the daily feeding of the cows and their health and wellbeing. Tractor responsibilities from moving snow to loading hay. Possibility of hauling livestock to Fillmore would fall into here as well, along with the continued moving of the animals through the ranch. 

Pet friendly housing available (w/rent). Must have a car. Hourly pay based on experience!

Guest Ranch Concierge PM shift 

Hours: 2:30-8pm 

Must have flexible availability & able to work weekends & holidays!

Pay: $18/hr + tips 

Job responsibilities:

• Open/close store & office
• Welcome & assist guest with any questions they may have
• Re-stocking store as needed 
• Assisting with any laundry left from housekeeping
• Light cleaning common areas
• Assisting Sweetwater Kitchen when needed (seating customers, pouring waters, running drinks etc..)
• Communicating efficiently with lodging manager with any problems that may arise

This job is perfect for someone that has great customer service skills, is able to work independently, and is great a communicator! This job is fast paced and must be able to handle issues that arise efficiently and effectively.

We are looking for someone to assist our lead housekeeper with

• pre-packaging continental breakfast
• stripping bedding in accommodations
• wash/fold linens
• occasional lodge and restaurant cleaning
• maintaining housekeeping area organized & clean
• BMGR deep cleaning projects
• basic customer service skills

This job is perfect for someone who likes to clean, is able to work efficiently on their own, and is a great communicator with other employees & our guests!

Sweetwater Kitchen Is located inside the Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch. We are looking for someone who has a passion for good food and loves the great outdoors. We are a rustic farm to table restaurant that would love for you to join us for our 2024 season!

5 Days a week Sunday-Thursday March-November
Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Chef in overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen
• Help with food production and ensure high-quality standards are met
• Help manage inventory, ordering, and receiving of food and supplies
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment

Experience:

• Previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment
• Knowledge of food production techniques and culinary principles
• Familiarity with restaurant management procedures
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members
• Knowledge of food service regulations and best practices

Skills:

• Excellent culinary skills and a passion for cooking
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

In addition: 

• Must have reliable vehicle 
• Utah Food Safety Handlers Certification required upon arrival

Compensation based on experience. Pay rate $18-20/hourly with monthly bonuses based on performance
