Do you enjoy helping people, staying organized, and working in a fast-paced retail environment? At Icy Strait Point, our Retail Cashiers are the friendly faces that welcome guests, process purchases, and keep our shops looking their best—all while working in the heart of Alaska’s natural beauty.

This is more than just a cashier role—it’s a chance to meet people from around the world, gain hands-on retail experience, and live in remote, scenic Hoonah, Alaska.

What You’ll Do

• Greet and assist guests with a friendly, helpful attitude.

• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately.

• Keep merchandise stocked, signed, and organized.

• Support with displays, floor moves, and store housekeeping.

• Learn product knowledge and promotions to assist guests and boost sales.

• Maintain cash accountability and follow company policies for security and loss prevention.

• Communicate guest requests to management.

• Support your team with additional tasks as needed.

What We’re Looking For

• A reliable, guest-focused team player with strong communication skills.

• Someone who enjoys a busy retail environment and can stay organized under pressure.

• Comfortable standing for long periods, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 40 lbs.

• Willing to live and work in a remote Alaskan community (expect ferries, small planes, gravel roads, and all types of weather).

• Retail or cashiering experience is helpful, but we’re happy to train motivated candidates.
