Room and Board

We offer dormitory-style rooms, shared cabins, and RV sites.

Most often, employees live in rustic, dormitory-style accommodations with shared restrooms and shower facilities at their designated worksite. Rooms are generally equipped with single-sized beds (or bunk beds), a small dresser, and a small closet space. All employees share a room with at least 1 roommate. Pets and non-employees are not permitted in company lodging. Meals & Lodging cost $15.74/day and include three meals per day at the Employee Dining Room (EDR), laundry, shuttle service, limited Wi-Fi, and is payroll deducted.

Off-site RV sites (with full hook-ups) may also be available at a cost of $12.25/day. This includes free laundry, shuttle service, limited Wi-Fi, and is payroll deducted.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Applicants are responsible for their own transportation to Glacier. A personal vehicle is not necessary, though helpful to access the Park and surrounding areas on days off.

For Fun

Employees will have access to over 700 miles of maintained hiking trails in Glacier National Park, white-water rafting, boat tours, camping, cycling, horseback riding, and fishing.

Employees will live and work with people from across the United States, Europe and Asia.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee daily dining room operations, ensuring a seamless guest experience by being present on the floor during all meal service periods.
    • Schedule and coordinate FOH staff using 7 Shifts; manage labor and payroll through Kronos.

    • Help control food and labor costs through communication and proactive planning.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Previous have experience in restaurants; whether that’s serving, bartending, or hosting.
    • Are you interested in or already know the basics of wine service, cocktails, and quality food presentation? We’re happy to train the right person.
    • Stay calm under pressure and helps your team do the same, especially during busy meal periods.
    • Communicate clearly and confidently while creating a fun, respectful, and supportive team environment.
    • Work closely with other leaders to keep services running smoothly from open to close.

    Experience:

    • 1-3 years of experience in the restaurant of hospitality industry preferred (FOH or BOH roles—servers, bartenders, hosts, supervisors, etc.)
    • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred but not a must, especially if you’ve helped train others, led a shift, or taken initiative in your past roles.
    • Experience working in fast-paced, guest facing environments, especially in tourism or seasonal settings, is helpful.
    • Familiarity with casual fine dining, craft beverage services, or guest service standards is also preferred but we’re happy to train the right person.

    Physical Requirements include:

    • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.

    Responsibilities

    • Will perform Housekeeping Room Attendant duties 2 shifts per week and Housekeeping Inspector duties 3 shifts per week.
    • Provide personalized service to all guests and ensure highest quality standards of housekeeping are met for guests.

      • Cleans and sanitizes shower, bathtub, shower curtain and toilet; restocks tissue.
      • Sweeps and mops floors.
      • Vacuums carpets, dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures.
      • Cleans windowsills.
      • Brushes curtains, draperies and upholstered furniture.
      • Empties and cleans wastebaskets and relines with liners.
      • Empties and cleans recycle bins and follows recycling procedures.

    Inspector Duties:

    • Prepare Housekeeper room assignments for the shift through HotSOS.
    • Strip beds.
    • Inspect rooms throughout the day and ensure rooms are ready by 4pm.
    • Assist with stocking linen closets and Housekeeping carts.
    • Clean rooms as needed while on Inspector shifts.

    Qualifications

    Responsibilities

    • Supervises the Lodge’s maintenance personnel, ensuring adherence to company policies and standards.
    • Clean and maintain Lodges exterior spaces (parking lot, patio, sidewalks) and interior common areas including lobby, hallways, public bathrooms, fitness room, entry ways, and stairways.
    • Daily pool and spa checks, cleaning and other pool and spa maintenance in accordance with State Health Department standards.
    • Empty outside and public trash receptacles and remove trash from all departments in the Lodge.
    • Maintain a safe and clean facility, indoors and outdoors; with the ability to enforce Lodge safety protocols.
    • Responsible for driving the shuttle, which may require adjustment of schedule to accommodate.
    • Assist with unloading, delivering, stocking, and organizing Lodge orders for various departments.
    • Assists with set up, tear down and cleaning of conference center for events when needed. Offer support to clients during events.
    • Ensure all maintenance requests and work orders are completed in a timely and professional manner, and in accordance with applicable laws and the best use of resources.
    • Supports hotel departmental maintenance programs and executes daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual checklists.
    • Basic repairs include plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling, ventilation, furnishings, fixtures, painting, drywall, light carpentry, door, and window repairs.
    • Preventative maintenance on all maintenance tools and equipment.
    • Preventative maintenance of all rooms and common areas by following the established maintenance program.
    • Performs mixed duties in diagnosing and repair for the proper maintenance and operation of building and the systems on property.
    • Snow and Ice removal as needed, spreading ice melt, shoveling, and snowplowing.
    • Overseeing the inventory and use of materials needed for job completion or inventory replacement. Coordinating orders with the Location Manager.
    • Responsible for adhering to Xanterra’s Ecologix program.
    • Support and assist in other departments as needed.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned by Location Manager.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Knowledgeable in the following areas and the ability to use tools and equipment common to the trade:
      • Heating & Electric, Plumbing, and Carpentry.
    • Proficient in supervising personnel in accordance with Xanterra’s policies and procedures. Ability to mentor and develop existing personnel and ensure that staff attend all training as required.
    • Able to identify the scope of work to determine if specialized skills of the various crafts are required to the job professionally.
    • Comply with all current related safety and health requirements.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Our Sous Chefs must have a working knowledge of all BOH positions; equipment; and understanding of production records. Sous Chefs are responsible for leading the BOH team towards the goal of providing excellent guest service in an efficient manner. Being able to remain calm in a high stress environment is essential for these positions. Managers’ ServSafe Food Handlers certificate will be required. Class will be available while at property.

    • Maintain and enforce established Xanterra standards of sanitation throughout the BOH operations.
    • Ensure that adequate training is done for all kitchen equipment for all staff.
    • Ensure that adequate pars of inventory items are maintained, adjusted and reacted to as business levels dictate.
    • Be on the floor 100% of the time during a meal service period to observe, monitor and follow-up in all areas of the BOH and FOH operations daily.
    • Ensure that all stations are adequately supplied with production needs to serve for any meal period. Ensure the quality as well as the quantity.
    • Accept responsibility for your BOH operations to be in complete readiness to open punctually for every meal period and serve every menu item for the length of that period.
    • Follow and enforce Company and departmental environmental and safety practices, policies and procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Proven experience in a high-volume or multi-outlet kitchen environment.
    • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe or equivalent required).
    • Ability to read, follow, and enforce standardized recipes and production sheets, proficiency in portioning and basic food cost calculations.
    • Excellent communication and team leadership skills; ability to train, motivate, and resolve on-shift issues in a fast-paced setting.

    Experience:

    • At least 2 years of professional restaurant experience, demonstrating proficiency with standard kitchen equipment and a strong commitment to food safety.
    • Must be able to effectively lead a team in a fast paced, high-pressure environment during times of the Location Chefs absence.

    Education:

    • A high school diploma or equivalent level of education is required.

    Work Environment:

    • Fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, and high noise levels.

    Physical Requirements include:

    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, approximately 10 hours.
    • Must be able to walk for long periods of time.
    • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
    • Must be able to bend, stretch, and reach for extended periods of time.
    • Work may involve walking on uneven terrain and moving between kitchen and storage facilities within the park’s lodges.

    Qualifications

    Physical Requirements include:
