  • Floater

    Stanley

Are you the type of person who usually has multiple jobs and thrives on managing to somehow keep all of the plates spinning? Someone who's a hustler, who only slows down when they finally fall asleep after a long, productive day? Our Floater position is the most unique at the ranch in that our Floaters help multiple different teams. One day you might be helping a guest choose which amazing Idaho craft beer they want to enjoy before dinner as a Dining Host, and the next you could be leading a group of children on a discovery hike for our Children's Program. You could be spraying the mashed potatoes off of a plate while you listen to music playing in the kitchen as a Steward during one shift, and for the next, you might be selling a guest a jacket from our retail stand as a Guest Services Host. Our Floaters are Jack's or Jill's of all trades, and helpful to every corner of the ranch.

The most important aspect of this job is the willingness to help. You don't have to be a pro at any one job yet, because we can teach you. We are looking for positive people who get satisfaction out of knowing they are an asset to whichever team they are on that day, and they're comfortable with learning multiple different jobs. Our Floaters are indispensable on all of the teams they're a part of.

  • Head Housekeeper

    Stanley

Our housekeeping team is one of our behind-the-scenes powerhouses on the ranch. Seldom seen by guests, our housekeepers are responsible for maintaining the superior aesthetic that our ranch has come to be known for. Standard shifts are between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm.

From organizing firewood in the cabin to making sure the correct pillows are placed on a newly made bed, and everything in between, our housekeepers need an attention to detail, and work ethic, that is second-to-none.

Our Head Housekeeper has even more responsibility. We are looking for someone who cares deeply about the details of every completed room, but at the same time, is able to motivate his or her team to work quickly and efficiently without "mothering" them. We want someone who is able to teach their team in a way that they enjoy the challenge of a day when we need to flip the whole ranch, but also in a way that our Head Housekeeper doesn't feel the need to hover and correct. This is a delicate and ferocious position in which a natural leader will thrive, and prior experience at a high end hotel would be very beneficial.

Our Head Housekeeper supervises and works with a support team of 5 housekeepers. Primary job responsibilities include: cleaning cabins, lodge rooms and other guest areas, laundering linens, and maintaining inventory and supplies. Secondary job responsibilities include: leading by example, providing a fun and healthy work environment, and being your teams biggest advocate.

  • Line Cook

    Stanley

As our valued Cook, you'll play a crucial role in bringing culinary creations to life, working hand-in-hand with our Executive Chef in a supportive and educational setting. Your main focus will be on delivering a delightful dining experience, with a special emphasis on ensuring our guests leave satisfied and smiling. In addition to preparing both hot and cold dishes, you'll be responsible for setting up your station, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and contributing to various tasks like, organizing deliveries, and supporting our stewarding teams.

We believe in teamwork and efficiency, so you'll have the chance to collaborate with department leaders on essential tasks for the ranch, covering everything from purchasing to Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) operations. Shifts might vary, including split, closing, and opening shifts, but each one is an opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and passion. We can't wait to welcome you to our kitchen and ranch crew!

  • Guest Services Host

    Stanley

Guest Services Hosts are the first people guests see as they get to the ranch, and the last before they leave. Throughout their stay, the Guest Services Host will be a guest's go-to person for information about the ranch history, recommendations about activities in the area, and tips and suggestions for ways to get the most out of their stay.

Guest Services Hosts interact with guests with professionalism and grace while performing all office-related duties during day and evening shifts. Daytime shifts start at 7:30am and evening shifts last until 10pm. Daytime shifts are more focused on office responsibilities, cleaning, and maintaining the lodge, while the evening shifts are more focused on assisting the servers and dining hosts during dinner service. Guest Services Hosts will be trained and able to work both morning and evening shifts.

Responsibilities include: acquainting guests with our meal service, assuring guests have signed up for a dinner time, recommending ranch activities and adventures at check-in and throughout their stay, retail sales, billing, check-outs, making reservations and appropriate follow-up, handling phone calls and emails appropriately, assisting the dining hosts and servers during the dinner hour, including beverage service. Hosts also will provide assistance to the Office Manager, e.g., with paperwork and routine tasks, as requested. Must have a willingness to assist housekeeping on busy days as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

  • Wait Staff

    Stanley

This isn't your typical serving job. When guests arrive at the ranch, they'll be enamored whether it's the first or twentieth time they've visited. What will make the difference between a "good" trip and an "amazing!" one is their interaction with our team. Our Wait Staff generally has the most exposure to our guests, as they see each other multiple times a day. Because of this, we need you to be great at what you do, and your personality has to come through each and every shift.

As a general statement, our Wait Staff is responsible for serving food and beverages in a friendly, professional and efficient manner to guests. So is every serving job in every restaurant on earth. What we want is more specific: you have to be an awesome human who works hard and still manages to like people. We're looking for someone who wants to hear which hike the guests went on that day, and then shares a story of when you did that same hike on your recent day off. You should be someone who can clear a table while laughing at the cheesy dad joke that's shared, and come back with a better one as you notice they could use another glass of wine. You've got to be the type of person a guest name drops in a review.

You're always describing, selling and serving food and beverages in a positive and professional manner, but you're also recognizing when a coworker has one too many plates and you lend a hand. You'll do side work and clean all the time, but you'll do it while laughing with your new friends and coming up with a plan for the epic camping or fishing trip you're going to take on your weekend. We want you to be willing to help other parts of the ranch, too. Want some extra hours? Offer to work in the dish pit now and then, or help our housekeeping team on a day when we do a full flip of guests.

Adherence to standards and practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen and service areas are essential, and willingness to lend a hand is a must. Also performs other related duties as assigned by management.

  • Yoga Instructor / Floater

    Stanley

Are you a wandering yogi who is looking to set some temporary roots for a change of pace? What about in the Sawtooth Mountains in the middle of Idaho? With free room and board, and an amazing space we call "The Shed"  in which we have radiant-heat floors, hydraulic-lifting garage doors that open into the mountains, and plenty of space to flow, we'd love to have you find your zen at our 870-acre guest ranch while you teach your practice to our guests.

We are seeking a person for a shared role as Yoga Instructor and Floater. The yoga instructor position will require a teacher accreditation with a goal of offering ten, one-hour classes per week, ideally a mix of Restorative and Vinyasa classes. Our classes are offered at 7:30am and 5pm.

To meet an overall goal of a 40 hour / 5 five day work week, our Yoga Instructor will also work as a Floater. As a Floater, your additional hours will be spent equally between our Housekeeping team, and in our front office as a Guest Services Host.

We, ideally, would like to have yoga as an offering to our guests 7 days a week, twice a day. Priority consideration will be given to you if you and a friend are both yoga instructors who would be willing to share the above responsibilities.
