Youth Advocates of Sitka

Our office on the historic Sheldon Jackson campus
Once the capital of Russian America, Sitka's historic downtown is nestled beneath easily accessible mountains.
A fishing town at heart, Sitka faces the open ocean but is protecting by a chain of hundreds of small islands, making it a paddler's dream!

Summer Activity Leaders Wanted!

Youth Advocates of Sitka's mission is to support the mental health of Alaska's youth and their families. We accomplish that mission in many different ways, working in community schools, running residential homes, through our youth-run business, and in community activities serving youth from all over the State.

Facing the open Pacific Ocean, with mile-high mountains and glaciers in our backyard, Sitka is an outdoors persons' dream, with kayaking, hiking, hunting, fishing and cultural activities galore! Sitka is a town of 9000, and while we retain our small town charm, we have big city hustle and bustle.
