Delivery Driver - Seasonal 2023

The Delivery Driver plays a critical role in Yellowstone Forever’s operations, working with other warehouse staff and park store associates to ship product from the warehouse to Yellowstone Forever Park Stores.

Limited housing is available for this position. Housing is located in Gardiner, Montana. Housing is in shared units (individual bedrooms), no partners or pets are allowed in shared housing. Rent is paid via bi-weekly payroll deduction.

Position: Delivery Driver

Location: Gardiner, Montana

Reports To: Warehouse Lead

Status: Full-Time / Seasonal (May through October) / Non-Exempt

Yellowstone Forever (YF) is the official nonprofit partner of Yellowstone National Park. Our mission is to protect, preserve, and enhance Yellowstone National Park through education and philanthropy. YF connects people to Yellowstone through outstanding visitor experiences and educational programs and translates those experiences into lifelong support of the park and philanthropic investment in its future. Our educational programming and products help people enhance their understanding and appreciation of the wildlife, natural wonders, and cultural history of the park. YF’s operations include Park Stores in and around Yellowstone; the Yellowstone Forever Institute, which offers in-depth educational programing for people of all ages; and a supporter program which raises funds for priority park projects.

The Delivery Driver plays a critical role in Yellowstone Forever’s operations, working with other warehouse staff and park store associates to ship product from the warehouse to Yellowstone Forever Park Stores.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of product using a warehouse cargo truck, including wholesale orders to gateway communities;
• Participate in the shared duty of mail run and other deliveries as needed;
• Prepare all transfer orders utilizing the warehouse management system to include picking, packing the merchandise, and preparing the packing slip for the store;
• Embark merchandise in delivery trucks using appropriate tools;
• Perform basic truck maintenance;
• Ability to complete work duties with minimal supervision;
• Load, transport, and deliver items to YF Park Stores and others, as needed, in a safe, timely manner;
• Represent YF and its mission accurately and positively;
• Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment;
• Travel into Yellowstone, throughout the Greater Yellowstone area, as required;
• Other tasks as assigned by Warehouse Lead, or other designated leadership;

Basic Qualifications:

• Ability to walk, drive and lift boxes/equipment weighing up to 40 pounds for extended periods;
• No traffic violations;
• Proven ability to work as a member of a team to accomplish goals;
• Ability to remain calm and composed when driving in variable and congested driving conditions;
• Willingness to adhere to schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws;
• Ability to represent YF in a courteous and professional manner;
• This position involves driving YF vehicles, therefore applicants must hold and maintain a valid US driver’s license and maintain a favorable driving record;
• The ability to pass and maintain YF Driver Training and a Department of Transportation medical exam;
• A satisfactory criminal background check are conditions of employment;
• Must be at least 21 years of age;

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Knowledge of Yellowstone National Park;
• Experience working in a non-profit environment;
