Purpose:
The purpose of the Banquet & Catering Manager is to setup, breakdown and run all day-to-day operations and Barn functions, as well as to ensure a high quality dining experience in their assigned restaurant, lounge and/or bar, which may include catered off-site and in-home food and beverage offerings, and special events to achieve business goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly or indirectly supervises employees and/or supervisors; carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Club’s policies, procedures and applicable laws; responsibilities include but are not limited to: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Major Responsibilities:
Run the day to day operations in The Barn, monitoring setup, running, and breakdown of all events and usage of the Barn facility, and managing direct reports.

Train, develop, direct, schedule and manage direct reports.
Ensure that each member and guest receives outstanding guest service in a guest friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every member and guest, maintaining outstanding service standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest service.
Empowered to guarantee total guest satisfaction, display hospitality and professionalism to our guests at all times, take pride in representing Yellowstone Club professionally with our members and guests and assure that all transactions with guests are handled in a legal and ethical manner.
Understand and apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees, members, and guests at all times. In the event of an accident or emergency, seek medical attention if necessary and contact the General Manager or Human Resources immediately.
Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a positive working environment.
Order any and all necessary supplies and product for The Barn.
Oversee any maintenance or facilities needs in conjunction with Facilities Team.
Setup, staff, run and breakdown all Events and Meal periods in The Barn building and facility.
Manage banquet server team in successful execution of catering events and all Barn functions.
Work closely with the Events team on member and club-sponsored events on details and staff scheduling.
Understand all Billing Procedures and be comfortable and competent in all billing. Bill all Barn events as needed along with accurately completing service charge.
TEI- Understand and be knowledgeable of this program, as well as POS set-up, updates and maintenance.

Awareness of all restaurant job functions and be able to work in any outlet in a management capacity.
Read and Execute Event BEOs.
Work directly with Executive Chef, Catering Chef, Executive Steward and Culinary team to ensure seamless events and service.
Collaborate and communicate with Director of Special Events & Catering to ensure department success.
Responsible for overseeing and maintaining the timing of all Barn functions.
Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House operations.
Schedule staff according to volume of business; understands how to flex when necessary to meet labor expectations; ability to adjust daily operations to be in line with the budget.
Understand each front of the house function and train according to Club standards.
Aid in recruiting, hiring, and training and growing exceptional Food & Beverage employees
Plan and provide training and guidance daily, weekly, and monthly to direct reports.
Keep to monthly and annual budget and maintain administrative records.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Know, understand and train others on operating systems such as the POS system, TEI, purchasing and others, as required.
Knowledge on all menu items including preparation, any allergens, and alternative preparations.
Knowledgeable on keg and beverage replacement.
Responsible for overseeing responsible alcohol consumption per person.
Supervise inventories of all china, glassware, silverware, linen, and buffet supplies.
Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
Complete and audit monthly beverage inventory of The Barn.
Understand beverage ordering, purchasing, receiving in The Barn and keep regular stock of inventory and needs.
Answer the phone in the appropriate way, including directing the member/guest accordingly to meet their needs.
Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established Club policies, procedures, and standards of service to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands. Weekends and Holidays are required as business demands require.

Understand inventory control procedures; available to assist with Inventory/Month end.
Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues and expenses.

Experience/Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree; Two+ years’ experience in Food & Beverage Management; TIPS certified; Proven customer service experience as a manager.
Experience/Education Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business of Hospitality Management; Court of Master Sommelier training, or equivalent training.
Certificates & Licenses:
Valid State Driver’s License.
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office Suite of products; POS system, Other Operating systems within Food & Beverage.
Language Ability:
Able to speak clearly and effectively with Members, guests, co-workers, vendors and other Yellowstone Club departments. Able to write clearly and legibly.
Math Ability:
Able to perform complex math calculations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve complex problems with professional and respect with employees, managers, Members and guests.
Work Environment:

The employee will be required to work outside in extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, snow or inclement weather as the demands of the position so dictate.
