Live. Work. Explore. In some of the most beautiful places on earth!
At Xanterra, we are a welcoming community of employees who work hard, share a passion for the environment and enjoy creating memorable experiences for our guests in some of the most beautiful places on earth. We are the largest concessionaire of lodges, restaurants and retail stores in National Parks across the United States and offer opportunities in all areas of hospitality.
From Going-To-The-Sun Road in Glacier National Park to an Oasis in Death Valley National Park to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and multiple epic locations in-between, we get to live, work and explore where others vacation. Many Xanterra locations are very remote and somewhat isolated from the "outside" world, which is what we love about getting to live there!

Do you want to live and work in a destination that others dream of visiting? Perhaps you want to be on a team of coworkers from all over the world? Does a productive day of hard work give you a sense of accomplishment? Do you want to help make our guests dream vacations come to life? If so, we may be the perfect fit for each other.
The ideal Xanterra employee has a strong work ethic, desire for community, adventurous nature and a positive contagious attitude. Xanterra's workforce encompasses individuals from across the country and around the world. With the millions of guests who visit our parks each year, we rely on the positive attitude and solid work ethic of everyone on our team!
Recruiting and hiring seasons vary by property. Applicants who are flexible about job choices and are available for the entire length of an operating season are given priority. We are especially in need of employees who can work Spring through Fall (April/May - September/October).
While our work locations are in some of the most beautiful places on earth, it means we often trade the convenience of living in a city for a much simpler way of life. This means that internet is available, but spotty, and cell-service is sometimes non-existent. If you're not afraid of a simpler way of life and spending less time staring at a screen - or better yet, if this excites you, then we should talk.
Room and Board
Employee housing facilities vary by location but are generally dormitory-style facilities with communal bathrooms. Dormitory housing is very basic and sometimes rustic. Most dormitory housing is located within walking distance to work - yes that means our employees live and work IN the Grand Canyon or IN Glacier National Park, for example. Living and working in a community is a very unique experience - our employees live, work and explore together.
Housing for couples is limited and available only when the company employs both individuals. Pets are not allowed in company housing. RV spots are also available at most Xanterra locations. Most Xanterra properties also have an Employee Dining Room that serves a variety of meal options. Employee housing and meals are provided at a discounted cost for employees.
Getting Here and Getting Around
Generally employees are responsible for providing their own transportation to the immediate area (by flight, car, train or bus), and a shuttle can be reserved to transport to employee housing. Visit each destination's FAQ section on their webiste or inquire in the interview process about specific arrival details.
Having a car is not necessary, but is optional. There are limited shuttles available which provide transportation into town and to surrounding areas.
Xanterra employees not only get free national park passes, they have endless opportunities to hike, bike, climb, camp and explore in some of the most amazing places in the world - right in their own backyard. Many of our locations have a recreation department which offers recreational activities for employees like soccer matches, olympics, game nights, movie nights, guided hikes and more. Employee Recreation Centers also offer TV, internet, computers, board games, books and games like pool tables or foosball. Depending on the specific location, Xanterra employees are also able to take advantage of other local benefits - rafting, horseback riding, canyoneering and more. During your interview process, inquire about the specific recreation activites available at that location.
How to Apply
We invite you to apply using our online application system, which gives you the ability to view open positions at any of our locations and apply for up to five positions. The application system allows you to create a unique user ID and password so that you complete the online application form only one time. Applicants can use these to apply for new jobs or update their application at any time. Once you have completed the application process, you will receive an email that confirms receipt of your application, the date that the application expires, and your user ID and password for future use.
Due to the volume of applications we receive, not all applications will be considered, nor will all applicants receive a response. If one of our recruiters is interested in your application you will be contacted by that property directly. If you are an individual with disabilities and require accommodation, of if you are having difficulty using our website to apply for employment, please contact the corporate Human Resources department at (303) 600-3400.
