  • Mountain Patroller - Winter

    Truckee
    $19.80 / hour

    The Mountain Patroller ensures the safety of our guests and employees both on and off the mountain. This individual supports multiple priorities including supporting the opening and closing of the mountain, assisting in diverse emergency and medical situations, and collaborating with other departments to drive a culture of safety and service.

    As a Mountain Patroller, this individual administers first aid, maintains all mountain safety activities, documents incidents, and promotes safe practices to our guests and employees. With that said, no task is too small as working on Donner Summit means we all pick up a shovel, bump chairs, and pitch in all aspects of resort operations no matter our title or pay grade.

    What We're Looking For:

    • Strong skiing/snowboarding capabilities
    • EMT or OEC Certification with current CPR certification
    • Wilderness First Aid
    • Hepatitis B Vaccination complete or declination signed
    • Experience operating a snowmobile in a variety of terrain and snow conditions preferred
    • Experience working as mountain patrol and/or leadership is a plus!
  • Lift Operator - Boreal Mountain

    $18.00 / hour

    Lift Operators are the backbone for the resort. Their off days are spent lapping the park, searching for powder stashes, and cruising corduroy. Their workdays are spent outside creating a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone by assisting guests, shoveling, doing area maintenance, and taking laps. Their responsibilities are not just safety-critical but as the staff members that all guests interact with, they help create a positive experience for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels. No task is too small when working on Donner Summit; we all step up to help with any task needed no matter our title.

    While every day is different and our roles may shift based on business needs, here is what tasks and responsibilities you can expect in this role as a Lift Operator:

    • Ensure safe and efficient up-hill transportation for our guests and employees
    • Understands the basic mechanics of lift operations and operates controls
    • Provides an excellent guest experience
    • Prepares and maintains all lift area using hand tools
    • Attends daily operations meetings to gather information on resort operations
    • Controls flow of lift maze traffic
    • Assists guest through the RFID gates and ensures everyone on the mountain has a valid pass

     

  • Adult Snowsports Instructor - Boreal

    $18.00 / hour

    Adult Snowsports Instructor

    As a member of the Snowsports team you are responsible for helping promote the sports of skiing and snowboarding while coaching participants ages 13+, and to provide excellent guest service that will exceed our guest's expectations, and enhance their winter sports experience, in an atmosphere of safety, fun, and learning. Effectively promotes and executes the delivery of exceptional guest service that will exceed our guest's expectations, enhance their winter sports experience, in an atmosphere of safety, fun, and learning and provides a sound financial return to the company.

    More Information:

    • Must work well with others as part of a team
    • Must be aware of any procedure changes and event activity that may affect Snowsports
    • Check in with your supervisor daily regarding specific procedures and tasks
    • Must attend and follow daily/weekly meetings, engaged and interact as a team
    • Always ask questions, interact and engage with other employees
    • This position may require off site travel including but not limited to all Boreal Ridge Corporation locations
    • This position requires indoor and outdoor work
    • Ski and/or Snowboard ability- comfortably ski or snowboard down any groomed run at Boreal or Soda Springs
    • Walking up/down ski runs
    • Work non-stop for times up to 6 or more hours with minimum breaks.
    • Must have the ability to use touch-typing skills and have the ability to lift up to a 50-lb. box and carry 50 yards
    • Must be able to visually review written documents
  • Tube Park Operator

    $18.00 / hour

    The Tube Park Crewmember often introduces many of our guests to the mountain. Some of our guests have young children that aren't yet ready to ski or ride, are new to the snow entirely, or are looking for a relaxing environment to enjoy the snow. This individual is responsible for creating a safe and exciting experience that is inclusive to everyone.

    More Information:

    This individual and fellow team members coordinate tubing operations including checking tickets, operating the conveyor belt, and conducting tubing starts and swift exit after each ride. Tubing sessions are one and a half hours in length, giving the opportunity to interact with our guests on a personal and professional level. With that said, no task is too small as working on Donner Summit means we all pick up a shovel, bump chairs, and pitch in all aspects of resort operations no matter our title or pay grade.

    While every day is different and our roles may shift based on business needs, here is what you can expect to dive into in this role as a Tube Park Operator:

    • Provides a high level of service to our guests.
    • Understands and operates in compliance with department training and safety requirements.
    • Tests lanes for quality control regularly.
    • Proactively anticipates changing conditions and communicates in a timely manner with leadership.
    • Maintains tubing lanes and guest areas with hand tools, especially during changing conditions.
    • Sets up and tears down area daily, including equipment inspection.
    • Attends and contributes to daily operations meetings to gather information on upcoming events and operational changes
  • Snowmaking Manager

    Truckee
    $64,480.00 - $68,000.00 / year

    The Snowmaking Manager will be an essential member of Woodward Tahoe's Snow Surfaces and Innovative Environments teams, reporting to the Director of Mountain Operations. The successful applicant will supervise and manage the day-to-day snowmaking operations. This includes. but is not limited to, all assigned personnel, operational plan, daily maintenance, and operation of snowmaking system and equipment.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Mountain Operations Director creating and implementing the snowmaking plan.
    • Assist in parking lot snow removal and maintain mountain bike park irrigation.
    • Monitor weather conditions closely to ensure success with every snowmaking opportunity
    • Execute safety plan.
    • Nightly documentation of snowmaking statistics.
    • Manage and supervise snowmaking team.
    • Execute day to day maintenance and operation of snow making equipment.
    • Monitor and record all water usage data.
    • Create and document a maintenance plan for snowmaking infrastructure.
    • Schedule labor and manage labor budget.
    • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and learn new skills as needed.
    • Support and assist the parking and snow removal teams as needed when not making snow.

    Preferred Skills:

    • 3-5 years Snowmaking experience.
    • Four-year college degree is preferred.
    • Proficiency in ski area operations.
    • Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team, and to lead teams in achieving goals.

    Basic Requirements:

    • A valid driver's license is required.
    • Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50lbs.
    • Basic Snowcat operations.
    • Must be comfortable working in an outdoor all-season environment.
    • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
    • Ability to work overnight shifts.
    • Ability to ski/snowboard to locations on the mountain as needed.
    • Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a criminal background check will be conducted after position is accepted.
  • Vehicle Maintenance Manager

    $64,480.00 - $68,000.00 / year

    The Vehicle Maintenance Manager will be an essential member of Woodward Tahoe reporting to the Director of Operations. The successful applicant will be responsible for the safe operation of the vehicle maintenance shop and equipment and will possess a passion for our sports, business, customers and employees. We expect our employees to have a team focused attitude toward top performance, growth and development with excellent communication skills embodied in a collaborative style.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Will oversee the maintenance of all fleet vehicles, snowmobiles, heavy equipment, snow cats, trucks, atv's)
    • Assist in snow removal and heavy equipment operator training.
    • Develop annual budget and work within those parameters.
    • Oversee staffing needs including selecting, coaching, and training employees and evaluation employee performance.
    • Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
    • Train staff in all safety procedures, as well as assist with training for specialty maintenance certificates.
    • Manages employees to ensure performance and cost focus efficiency across the department.
    • Set daily and weekly schedules.
    • Must possess strong communication and organization skills and communicate effectively with other departments.
    • Use a wide variety of hand and power tools, cutting torches and welding equipment.
    • Ability to manage, track and forecast spending.
    • Must have previous mechanical experience.
    • Flexible with the changing of seasons and demands of the position.

    Basic Requirements:

    • Valid and current Driver's License
    • Experience in vehicle maintenance and the tools involved
    • Experience in current trends and practices in work order tracking and maintaining in-depth digital records.
    • The ability to react quickly in crisis situations and under extreme conditions.
    • Able to stand for extended periods of time.
    • Must have the ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
    • Due to the operational needs of this position a criminal background check will be required annually after the position is accepted.

  • Rental Shop Technician

    The Equipment Rental Technician manages a number of responsibilities for our guests. They are responsible for assessing their needs and fitting them with proper equipment so they can efficiently get to the slopes. This individual always jumps at the opportunity to fulfill whatever our guests need and thrives in a team environment.

    The Rental Shop is a fast-paced, high-volume operation and priorities change on a dime. The Rental Technician delivers excellent guest service and is responsible for managing transactions, selecting, assembling, and fitting proper equipment for our guests, and maintaining the rental shop and its equipment. 

    While every day is different and our roles may shift based on business needs, here is what you can expect to dive into in this role as an Equipment Rental Technician:

    • Provides an excellent level of service to our guests.
    • Gather guest information and correctly enter it into RTP
    • Adjust ski bindings based on Marker binding recommendations
    • Works with our guests to find the right equipment for their stature and skill level
    • Manages transactions and collects Liability Waiver
    • Maintains and assembles equipment with the highest of safety standards
    • Keeps shop and equipment organized
    • Understands resort offerings and is proactive with our guests' needs
    • Works and communicates with team members to achieve excellent results

  • Ski School Manager - Adult Program

    $25.00 - $27.00 / hour

    The Ski School Manager is part of the manager leadership team for Boreal Ridge Corporation. This position assists with the Services functions for all Snowsports Operations. The successful candidate will gain and develop experience in ski industry staff management, revenue center management and development. 

    The Ski School Manager will help to carry out the annual revenue center plan in conjunction with the company's strategic plan and the Snowsports/Rental Operations, process and standards. Manages direct reports over Business Units to ensure high standards of systems, processes, communication and administration. Ensures the highest level of guest service for primary guest service interaction areas. Works in unison with Mountain Sports managers to meet operational and company goals. The Adult Snowsports manager is responsible for efficient and effective operation of the Snowsports lesson Programs.

    Proposed hiring rate of $25.00 to $27+ actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

    Essential Functions:

    Administrative

    • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of team member schedules
    • Coordinate time clock & schedule management
    • Assist in hiring, onboarding, training, and off boarding
    • Audit scheduled tasks and paid tasks for accuracy and compliance with department standards
    • Adhere to seasonal department manuals, and promote standards and expectations
    • Administer employee safety training and compliance documentation
    • Provide support for other Mountain Sports managers while off duty

     

    Operational Excellence

    • Responsible for oversight and quality control of all Snowsports operations
    • Ensure daily cleanliness and organization of the locker room and children's Snowsports room
    • Assists in selling and fulfilling guests orders renting various types of action sports equipment and other products
    • Manage lesson pool inventories pre-season and in-season
    • Assign lessons to ensure best possible outcome for guests and team members
    • Evaluate, monitor and improve lesson quality on hill
    • Step into any sales position, technical role, or coaching role when there is a need or absence
    • Monitor department operating supplies and communicate ordering needs to manager
    • Observe, assess and communicate operational effectiveness to Mountain Sports Management team
