We operate a small 5-table cafe in the seaside village of Homer. We are looking for one chef manager who can oversee day-to-day cafe operations, manage employees, order and manage food inventory, and cook. We hire several cooks, servers, and dishwashers to fill in our daily 5 AM to 4 PM work schedule. Our cafe serves organic local cuisine.

Dishwashers should have an interest in the culinary arts and be willing to work hard and be a good team member amidst our positive and fun crew. Experience is helpful but there are a few entry positions available for the right candidate. Requires ability to stand long hours and to lift 40-50 pounds. We prefer candidates to be drug and smoke free.

Front Counter employees must have service experience, a positive attitude, enjoy food and customer service lifestyle. Requires ability to stand long hours and to lift 40-50 pounds. We prefer candidates to be drug and smoke free.

The captain should possess a current Coast Guard certification of a 50 to 100-ton Master's license. 

We operate two boats at the lodge, a 44-foot Maxweld catamaran, and a 26-foot Hewescraft utility boat.

We hire two qualified boat captains at Tutka Bay Lodge for our busy summer season. The captain is responsible for the safe operation of our vessels, the maintenance of our boats, and interaction with our guests regarding our natural geography and the uniqueness of life along Kachemak Bay. The Tutka Bay team conveys our company philosophy and company values to our guests. 

The boat captain drives guests to and from Homer, around to various destinations within Tutka Bay and Kachemak Bay, and supports the lodge with transportation services including shopping and trash trips to Homer. The captain can at times function as a naturalist guide depending on your skills and background. Guides lead guests into wilderness areas surrounding the lodge. The boat captain can at times function as a lodge-based assistant, helping with infrastructure building, maintenance, trash management, and other maintenance skills, depending on your skills and background.

Hours: Variable – An average workweek is 60 hours per week (6 days per week)

The Front of House assistant, in conjunction with the Managers, is responsible for making sure the main lodge, guest experience, food service, gardens, etc., are in order and running smoothly. This position is responsible for lunch and dinner service, our small bar program and after-dinner lodge monitoring.  The position requires comprehensive customer service skills with excellent knowledge of communication, hospitality and our location in Alaska.
