Who we need: Customer Service Representatives

When: Summer rafting season, May 1st through Labor Day (flexible based on availability)

Wage: $12.50/hour + $1/hour bonus upon successful completion of contract in August/September.

Skills requirements: None, although previous office experience is extremely helpful.

Job summary: The job of "Customer Service Representative" is a broad term we use to cover this role within the company. We many times refer to the job title as simply "Office Staff". Responsibilities include checking-in guests, cleaning, taking reservations over the phone and in person, selling retail items, selling photos, answering emails, checking and returning phone messages, following up on unconfirmed/incomplete reservations, driving the occasional shuttle, data entry, prepping paperwork for guide staff and more.

Ideal candidate: Strong individuals who aren’t looking for an ordinary summer job. We are very passionate about the rafting industry and desire to recruit those with strong outdoor background and interests including hiking, biking, camping, climbing, kayaking and more. Candidates MUST be people-oriented, outgoing, detail minded and have the energy to tackle long days filled with interacting with guests.

Can I raft for free? YES! FREE rafting trips! This includes multi-day expeditions. Expect to go on a two- or three-day rafting trip and many half and full day trips to learn about what you are selling. We welcome you to bring a friend of family member along as well. 

Is there housing available? Yes. Subsidizing housing is available in Buena Vista (3 miles from our rafting office). One of six mobile homes at River Rest Mobile Park which is owned by the company. It is a shared living arrangement with other office staff and rafting guides. Cost is $605 + $100 deposit including utilities for the entire season (about 3-4 months). The mobile home park is right in the middle of Buena Vista, within easy walking distance to parks, restaurants, coffee shops, stores and the Arkansas River. Note that we do not allow pets under any circumstances, so make sure your furry friends have a summer caregiver. 

Do a I need a car? No, but it is very helpful and will allow for a more flexible work schedule.
