This season marks Whaler's Cove Lodge's 37th year of operation. The first season in 1983 saw 37 guests, now we are hosting over 800 guests a season!

Whaler's Cove Lodge is located approximately 60 miles south of Juneau, Alaska in the middle of the Tongass National Forest. The lodge is on Killisnoo Island, a small island off of Admiralty Island, which is home to one of the largest concentrations of brown bears in the world.

The Sous Chef position works closely with the Head Chef to create from scratch meals served to 100 people for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Service is buffet style, and staff and guests eat together. Our menu is on a 14-day rotation.

The working season for the Sous Chef is approximately June 10th to September 15th, 2019. Guests are onsite from June 25th to September 7th, 2019.

The salary for this position is DOE, and this position is a part of the tip pool. Pay is excellent for industry. Compensation includes a single room and full board. Transportation to Alaska is reimbursed upon the successful completion of the season. Transportation from Juneau to Killisnoo Island is provided.
