A successful line/prep cook at West Creek Ranch is focused and motivated. West Creek is a unique guest ranch that functions with a cyclic menu of local and deliciously prepared foods with varied styles of meal services. Our small guest capacity coupled with a Monday to Friday work week means we have the time and resources to execute our menu to the highest standards. Line Cook Job Responsibilities:

  • Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
  • Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
  • Cooks food items by grilling, smoking, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
  • Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces throughout the shift.  
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion

Requirements and skills

  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Chef, Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
  • Flexible and creative with a “Can do” attitude
