Currently hiring for multiple positions for the 2023 season, including but not limited to Head Guide/Wrangler, Guides/Wrangler, Breakfast Chef, and Server. Our guest season is June-August with our training and preparation month starting May 1st for all positions. Priority will be given to candidates that can work the entire season, May-August. Year-round guide position available for the right candidate.

    Would you like to spend your summer on a rural working ranch the size of the state of Rhode Island, dividing your time between top-notch guest service and adventurous off-time? 

    Are you the type of person who values working hard and creating memorable experiences for people? Do you enjoy hiking, fishing, paddleboarding, camping, biking, exploring, history, artwork, ranch life, cattle, horses, and just the peace of nature?     Head Guide purpose:

    First and foremost, ensure the safety and guest's enjoyment during their stay by not only guiding horseback rides but encouraging participation in activities that the guests may not know they have access too. This could be suggesting an impromptu hike to the top of a nearby peak or rock formation, or taking a drive to see some of the wildlife on the ranch, or leading a small fishing trip to one of the alpine lakes. 

    Main duties and responsibilities: 

    • Executing the scheduled itinerary while ensuring safety and enjoyment of the guests.
    • Educating guests during all activities especially during horseback riding, fishing, and shooting. 
    • Encouraging and leading unscheduled activities or alternate activities for guests. 
    • Ensuring the horse string, tack, barn, and all vehicles and trailers are neat, clean, and always ready for use. 
    • Ensuring that necessary equipment is packed and available for all excursions away from the lodge. Including some options for alternate activities. 
    • Driving guests to and from locations on the ranch. 
    • Pitching in whenever and wherever needed to ensure guests have an unforgettable and authentic experience. 

    Requirements/experience necessary:

    • Western riding and the ability to saddle horses. 
    • Ability to ensure the safety of 8 novice riders with assistance from guides. 
    • Caring nature, excellent communication, and the desire to ensure top-notch hospitality at all times. 
    • Care towards personal appearance. 
    • Authentic personality. 
    • Any experience eBiking, fishing, paddle boarding, shooting rifles or shotguns is preferred but not required. We will train you!
    • Deep love and reverence for the outdoors and nature.

    Breakfast Chef/ Sous Chef purpose:

    First and foremost, ensure the guest's enjoyment during their stay by providing excellent food in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Reid Creek Lodge features an open, family-style kitchen that provides our guests a connection to the team members. 

    Main duties and responsibilities: 

    • Executing an authentic and luxurious breakfast meal during guest stays.
    • Assisting the Executive Chef in preparations for the lunch and dinner meals as required. 
    • Washing pots, pans, and dishes. 
    • Preparing a transportable breakfast meal for our overnight camping experience.  
    • Ensuring that the coffee and tea service is available and ready for guests first thing in the morning. 
    • Some shopping for meal items may be required. 
    • Pitching in whenever and wherever needed to ensure guests have an unforgettable and authentic experience.

    • Providing attentive service and excellent breakfast food. 
    • Caring nature, excellent communication, and the desire to ensure top-notch hospitality at all times. 
    • Care towards personal appearance.
