We are a small, but dedicated team. The Lodge is here for guests year round and we are looking for people that want to work over 6 months at a stretch with us in the Catskills. Hospitality experience would be a plus, but not necessary. We would require a Zoom Interview, and if you could, we would love to have you trail with us (obviously this would not work for all).

    Urban Cowboy Lodge, located in Big Indian, NY one of the top Lodges of the Catskills is currently seeking experienced service staff to join our existing team. We are a small team of wonderful, hard-working people so personality and positive disposition are preferable.

    The right person for this job can multitask, takes pride in serving superior cocktails, cares about presentation, and is focused on hospitality. The hours for this position are generally 30-40 hours per week with weekend availability a must. 

    The responsibilities will consist of set up and breakdown of service period, executing service in assigned areas, caring for the guest experience. Also you must be able to carry at least 25 lbs, stand for 8-10 hours, use repetitive motions for long periods of time, and travel stairs etc, etc. you know the deal!

    Seeking a Hotel Restaurant Manager at Urban Cowboy Lodge in Big Indian, New York

    We want a unique individual to help lead a great team!!

    The Hotel Restaurant Manager will be overseeing the Food and Beverage Program, Events, Service Standards, and Guest Experience with our Executive Chef and General Manager. The Hotel Restaurant Manager works to ensure the best experiences resulting from unforgettable moments through staff interaction, experience, property, and culture.

    A successful Hotel Restaurant Manage will collaboratively partner with Ownership and Management to develop goals and action items for themselves and the entire team, in order to optimize performance, profitability, and culture. You will start actual fires while putting out proverbial ones.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide the vision, leadership, and strategy that inspires your staff to deliver exceptional guest service that drives financial success
    • Collaborate with hotel department leaders to define goals and objectives that are compatible with the overall hotel goals, as well as strategies for achieving them
    • Create a budget to maximize profit margins while keeping costs in balance with guest satisfaction and quality of services
    • Lead sales and marketing efforts by developing a targeted strategy for publicizing the hotel's services and amenities
    • Establish the hotel's reputation for quality by inspecting rooms, public areas, and the surrounding grounds for cleanliness and upkeep

    Qualifications:

    • Strong leadership and management skills working with employees who have a variety of skill sets, fostering a team-oriented environment.  Must be an Educator and Trainor.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to form innovative ideas, create a plan of action, and implement it
    • Tremendous administrative skills to keep vendors paid, revenues accounted for, and expenses in check
    • Able to work a flexible schedule in order to accommodate business levels; weekends, nights, and holidays required

    We want the the right person for our bar.  You must multi-task, take pride your cocktails, care about presentation and gives great service!  The shifts are Noon to 8 and 6 to Midnight. Weekend availability is essential--of course. 

    Min. Requirements:

    • Two years prior bartending experience
    • Process all guest checks through an approved payment process (credit cards, room charge or cash)
    • Maintain TIPs certification
    • Must be able to speak fluent English and communicate with guest and fellow co-workers

    Urban Cowboy Lodge is seeking a passionate and experienced Food & Beverage Director to join our team in the Catskills! 

    Public House at Urban Cowboy Lodge is a locally-driven, veg-forward dining program supplemented with a strong cocktail and natural wine-focused beverage program. Following in the footsteps of Urban Cowboy Nashville’s popular and award-winning restaurant, Public House at The Lodge offers a variety of experiences throughout the property utilizing the various outlets and beautifully designed spaces for dining, drinking and enjoyment. 

    The Food and Beverage Director leads the food and beverage program side by side with the Executive Chef to maintain specifically our standards of quality, service and consistency, in line with overall brand standards and the guest experience offered throughout property. 

    WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE THAT HAS:

    • A desire to create one-of-a-kind experiences
    • A positive disposition and knack for fostering a welcoming environment for all guests and staff 

    • Experience in high volume, quality-oriented restaurant operations

    • Strong food, wine and cocktail knowledge - previous experience working with natural wine and craft cocktails a strong plus

    • Strong leadership and management skills working with a variety of employees at different skill levels and varied backgrounds fostering a team-oriented environment

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

    • Ability to innovate ideas, formulate a plan of action, and implement it

    • Experience in purchasing specifications, pricing and quantity yields

    • Ability to understand P&L statements, develop and adhere to budgets, and to track sales and purchasing in order to achieve desired margins

    • Ability to communicate effectively with associates, management, clients and vendors

    • Ability to be the true team leader of a large F&B program by creating a system and an environment that is built upon teamwork and the success of all members

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and train all food and beverage employees, building a team for the eventual opening of 7 day a week service
    • Keeping all costs for food and beverage outlets, in room dining, and events in line with overall hotel budget for food and beverage with Executive Chef

    • Work with Hotel and Rooms management team and employees to communicate food and beverage department information, changes and events

    • Field incoming inquiries for food and beverage-focused events (private dinners, buy outs, etc.)

    • Analysis of monthly Food and Beverage inventories and product mixes to guide future procurement and marketing, and to ensure appropriate pricing is applied to all outlets

    • Monitoring and inventorying necessary OSE for all food and beverage functions throughout the hotel

    • Monthly forecasting for sales at each outlet to reflect seasonal and local demands, mirroring forecasting for occupancy

    • Creation of training systems, protocols and procedures for all Food and Beverage employees at Urban Cowboy Lodge

    • Overall management of all personnel affiliated with the food and beverage functions of the Urban Cowboy Lodge. Specifically, mentorship and oversight of all Food and beverage managers

    • Leading programming and selections for supplemental food and beverage services, such as the mini bar, canteen and seasonal activations

    • Plan and execute seasonal programming utilizing outdoor outlets and grounds

    • Foster community through local outreach, partnerships and events

    • Work with Executive Chef to create food and beverage programming and menus for events

    • Lead hiring initiatives for all FOH positions, assist Executive Chef when needed

    • Oversee the vision of ownership and execute said vision on property

    • Hold and manage regular on-property meetings to ensure constant communication, alignment of  objectives, and proactive addressing of issues

    • Create and distribute regular reporting  (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) to ownership

    • Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of the physical plant (with maintenance team)

    • Responsible for working  with the Company’s lawyers in applying for and monitoring all necessary licensing, food and  liquor safety compliance, Occupational Health & Safety Act, fire regulations and other legal  requirements.

    Position Details: The right person for this job can multi-task, takes pride in serving superior food, cares about presentation, and is focused on sanitation. The hours for this position are generally 35-45 hours a week with weekend availability is essential.  Your responsibilities will consist of food preparation, food presentation, set up and breakdown of meal period, and cleaning.    

    Experience:  Requirements include a minimum of 0-2 years experience serving as a Cook.  Hot food and cold food production experience required.  There will be some dishes, lighting some fires, cooking over some of them and a great place to learn.
