Lead Line Cook

Turpin Meadow Ranch meets the challenge of serving amazing food in a remote environment.  Our restaurant utilizes seasonal and fresh ingredients (including those from our seasonal garden) and sourcing from local farms whenever possible.  As well, we offer fresh, Hawaiian seafood and regionally raised meats and fowl.  Our goal is to produce memorable experiences in a world class environment.  To that end, we are looking for candidates who are experienced in culinary arts, mature, with focused energy and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.  We are a drama-free workplace and all culinary staff are required to be professional, kind and courteous.  

Compensation depends on experience.  Housing is complimentary.  Team members who complete the season are eligible for a share of the camp tip. 

IDEAL CANDIDATE: 

Must be able to commit to the working until the end of the season, around March 20th, 2025.

We are looking for experienced candidates who prioritize hospitality, regardless of the task and who have a love for food and a deep understanding that guest service and satisfaction come first. While we value fun at Turpin Meadow Ranch, we are serious about results. Candidates must be 18 years or older and exhibit advanced culinary skill and the ability to follow recipes as well as create specials and featured dishes. We are specifically looking for individuals in good health who maintain personal hygiene and pay attention to their appearance. Respect for oneself, others, animals, and the property and the equipment are required.  Our employees must adapt to changing circumstances, take direction well, and remain calm and professional in times of stress.  Attention to detail is crucial; we want our team members to anticipate and complete tasks without being asked. A positive attitude and strong work ethic are required. All line cooks participate in the cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen.  Our team members must be comfortable living in a wilderness environment.  Cell service is not available however, satellite internet is good. 

EMPLOYEE PERKS:

• A general camp tip fund grows during the season and is divided among the season-end staff at the end of the season.

• FREE accommodations for staff are provided.  Some meals and snacks might be available on rare occasions but we do not have an employee meal program.  All employee housing comes with complete kitchens and there are grocery stores a short drive away.

GETTING HERE & AROUND:

You are responsible for arranging your transportation to the Ranch. While there is an airport in Jackson Hole, it is highly recommended that you have reliable transportation to explore the nearby parks and access the town independently. Please note that the ranch does not offer regular employee shuttles and most staff housing is 2.5 miles from the Ranch.

Turpin Meadow Ranch is an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts! Located 15 miles from the entrance of Grand Teton National Park and 40 miles from the south boundary entrance of Yellowstone National Park, the ranch offers breathtaking views of the Tetons and Wyoming’s second-largest Wilderness Area.

Visitors can quickly embark on backcountry adventures with three National Forest trailheads within walking distance. The area is perfect for riding, biking, fishing, climbing, hiking, and camping. Enjoying multiple outdoor activities daily, such as climbing, biking, and rafting, is common. Additionally, Jackson Hole offers a vibrant art scene, with art fairs, live theater, music, and opportunities for art classes. The town of Jackson, just an hour away, is known for its lively atmosphere, great food, and entertainment.
