Our mountain resort has been in operation since 1940 and owned by the same family since 1975.  We love food; we love to create beautiful and delicious food for our guests.  We have 50 guests a week, plus 30 staff and we cook 3-4 meals a day.  These meals range from hearty dude ranch ribs and chicken, cookouts, to fine dining.  Our 2021 summer season kitchen team will consist of three people. We are hiring for this role, the Head Cook/Kitchen Manager, who will oversee an Assistant Cook and a full-time Baker.  Since the Head Cook/Kitchen Manager oversees the cooking team, managing a kitchen, placing orders, providing leadership and setting the example is an important part of the job.

The resort is a seasonal operation, operating from May 1st through late fall with guests (end of September).  We do provide housing for this position and the salary is commensurate to experience.

Kitchen Manager/Head Cook:  As noted above, this role oversees the kitchen staff as well as the general kitchen operations so managing a kitchen and a need for organization and professionalism is an essential part of the job.  We hire a baker, an assistant cook, a dishwasher, and the wait team that will jump on the line to help when needed.  The menu is set; however, we love our Kitchen Manager/Head Cook to help us reach the next level creatively by taking our existing menu and expanding.  We serve three meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  We spend $30,000 a month on food, so we expect the Kitchen Manager/Head Cook to be conscious of waste and how best to utilize our stocks.  The Kitchen Manager/Head Cook needs to have some experience on the flat top, gas grills, open fire grills, and an eye for presentation.  As well as have an extensive portfolio of recipes and ideas for restrictive diets.  We see a lot of gluten-free, allergies and vegetarian requests.  We are happy to train the right person!
