Experience the charm of one of the Oldest Family Resorts in the Adirondacks!
Timberlock is a rustic resort that enables it's guests to connect to the spectacular lakeside setting and focus on time with family and friends, without the distractions of today's fast paced life. It is one of the oldest summer family resorts in the Adirondacks, surrounded in all directions by miles of forest preserve and mountain views.
Located in the northeastern US, New York State, north of Albany, NY about 100 miles, along NYS Route 30 between the hamlets of Indian Lake and Speculator. We are in the middle of the Adirondack Park, a six-million acre state park.
Timberlock is not a luxury resort. We have elected to remain rustic and informal while retaining many of the original camp traditions. We still heat our cabins with wood stoves, light with gas lamps, walk the same 100-year-old paths and represent the wishes of our guests to remain "rustic but not rough". Timberlock is more than just a vacation. It is an experience.
The Employee Experience
Working here is a trade off...you give up modern conveniences like electricity, cell phones, and high speed internet but you gain deep friendships, new outdoor skills and experiences in one of the most remarkable wild areas in the country, and you become part of a 100 year old tradition of helping people connect to the natural world. As we like to say, there is no cell service but lots of good connections.
Outdoorsy, hard working, team player with friendly, positive, outgoing personality.
Room and Board
Room and board is provided to staff at a rate of $55 per week, which is deducted from pay. Housing is in simple cabin which is a short walk from main camp. Three meals daily are included, and special diets are welcome within reason.
Endless opportunities for hiking, canoeing and outdoor activity. Encouraged use of camp facilities and equipment.
Getting Here and Getting Around
A car is handy but not necessary. Our location is remote and closest town is 10 miles away but plenty to do on site. The closest bus and train are 45 min away. Transport can be arranged. Some staff have cars and there are plenty of opportunities to share travel.
There is lots to do around the resort; swimming, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, large water tramp, hiking, volleyball, tennis, basketball, archery, horses, wood shop, and of course chatting with our interesting clientele.
