Since 1937, Timber Wolf Lodge has hosted family vacations in Ely, MN.  Ely is the gateway to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and rests alongside the Minnesota | Canada border.

About Timber Wolf Lodge

Our water, 2,362 acre Bear Island Lake, is an especially productive fishery for walleye, Northern Pike, and bass.  The MN DNR releases 900,000 walleye fry into our waters every other year as part of their fisheries program.  

With 12 cabins and 28 RV sites, we host hundreds of family vacations each year.

Ideal Candidate

You are an ideal candidate to work at Timber Wolf Lodge if you have a history of arriving on-time, of being a self-starter and you are frequently applauded for your great work ethic.  

Please do not apply if you lack any of these qualities.  We don't waste our time or yours.  We care deeply about our guests and our 81-year history and providing them with exceptional staff members is non-negotiable.  

Room and Board

You want to live on-site where your accommodations are a rustic 1-person cabin with an upstairs sleeping loft and downstairs living and kitchenette.  Out front is a small private deck.  Water is located outside and your toilet and shower facility is about 100 feet down the path.  Your cabin is located next to our Finnish sauna and about 500 feet from the shores of Bear Island Lake.

In exchange for your housing accommodations, you commit to being available on-site or by phone after hours during the 5-days per week that you are on the daytime resort schedule.  You have two days off per week.

Employee Perks

$500 move-in bonus (July 15, 2018) and $500 move-out bonus (September 30, 2018).

Getting Here and Getting Around

Pick-up and return to the Duluth, MN International Airport is an option.  We will provide a private parking space for you if you would like to arrive with your personal vehicle.

For Fun

Join us for guest explorations of Kawishiwi Falls just north of Ely, MN.  Use your days off to explore the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.  Day trip to the north shore of Lake Superior and explore the gorgeous little lakeside hamlets that rest there from Duluth, MN all the way up historic Highway 61 to the Canadian border.

In Ely, you will discover the animal research center the International Wolf Center (www.wolf.org) and the North American Bear Center (www.bear.org).
