About Ticaboo Resort and Offshore Marina

Ticaboo, Utah, in the high desert of Southern Utah on the Colorado Plateau, may be one of the most extensive combinations of natural wonder, human and natural history, and lore; a mecca for adventurers, artists, wanderers and writers alike. Early inhabitants of the area, "the ancient ones", mysteriously disappeared, but the evidence of their existence and the proof of their ingenuity and genius can be seen in their still-present dwellings and rock art drawings. The modern history of the area is born from the exploration of Glen Canyon, steeped in Uranium mining, and the development of Lake Powell.  Our past, present, and future are diverse and iconic. We have the resources dreams are made of for wanderers, explorers, and adventurers, and the past legends are made of.

Our services include the hospitality/resort, food-service, retail, adventure/guided tours, pleasure boat and houseboat services. We’re a very diverse Land and Water service operation.

Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid, Cass Hite, Edward Abbey, Everett Ruess are but a few of the notable/notorious characters and icons to live, explore, write and be forever affected by Southern Utah and the area we live, work and play in today, in their shadows and footsteps.

Everett Ruess, his legacy forever imprinted in the desert here, was quoted as saying " I have been to many beautiful places and did not intend to taste, but to drink deep". Ticaboo is the opportunity that opens the door and allows you to drink deep.

A season here can change your life forever, just like it has ours, and still does daily. We came to work a season and fell in love, fell under the same spell the legends did, and never left. Our list of things to do grows each day; never-ending, but never needing to.

Come join us and find out what we're talking about for yourself!

The Employee Experience

What our employees have to say

“People come to Ticaboo from all over the world in a big social experiment. We work, play, explore and learn just how alike we are. Our common bond being this magnificent place and how we experience it together”

"Ticaboo is the doorway to my own personal playground of millions of acres. I literally step out my door and I can turn in any direction, and from that first step set out on an adventure of epic proportions." Ray Golden- Our Director of Lake Powell Adventures

"The housing is some the nicest and most affordable of any of the numerous and National Park jobs I've worked in over 20 years. I get a clean, modern private place with my own bathroom and kitchen. With the longer season and affordable living, I'm able to take a few months off and just travel before coming back...I love it."

Staff at Ticaboo and Offshore Marina live on site in employee housing, for a varied monthly fee dependent on the chosen housing. Ticaboo/OSM staff members also receive employee discounts in the restaurant and general store and are often able to accompany our Base Camp Adventure team on hikes, canyoneering outings or boating or ATV trips free of charge.

We are always looking for great managers and staff to join our team. We encourage you to explore our website to see what makes us so special at www.ticaboo.com and www.offshoremarina.com

Room and Board

We have very nice/newer housing.  Most of our housing has full kitchen and full private baths.  We have studio apartments or RV units for single or double occupancy (roommates or couples) and options in general to shared private rooms. Single housing options are based on availability.

We also offer family housing (based on availability) in the form of modular or mobile homes and we love healthy adventurous couples and families working with us! Family size housing is limited according to roles and availability. Lake Powell School grades K-12 is 7 miles from us for educational needs for children.

RV sites with power water and sewer hook ups are also for people with their own RV's who want to work with us for a monthly utility fee of $150.00

Housing is provided with a monthly utility fee deducted from your pay check. Options for housing vary by availability, job role (year round or seasonal) and most are equipped with full size kitchens. Seasonal position prices typically vary from $200-$300 a month per person (new single studio unit w full-size kitchen and bath suitable for 2 people) to $350-$400 for a 2 bedroom mobile home. Double occupancy/roommates can split the rental costs and save money. Utility costs included in most rentals, however additional fees may be charged if usage is over a pre-set amount.

Year-round housing types and rent are based on job and compensation type and discussed with potential year-round role candidates.

A refundable security deposit of $125 is required for all housing and can be deducted up to 3 pay periods.

Virtually every housing unit has a kitchen, special diets are easy to accommodate as are “plain ole cravings” to cook what you want when you want, the way you want. Our store and restaurant do offer employee discounts and there will be various “free” employee appreciation cookouts throughout the year. A National Frozen food vendor does service Ticaboo and employees are able to pre-order via their website or in person from the driver on property. There is no employee dining room, due to the cooking facilities in each living unit.

Employee Perks

Adventure is part of what we do at Ticaboo and you can too as an employee!  As long as room is available you can accompany our professional guides and adventure staff on canyoneering, hiking, rock climbing, geological and ATV outings free of charge! We also have ATV rentals and boat rentals (as available after guest bookings) as perks for high performing, pre-approved employees as a thank you for their work.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Employees arrive at Ticaboo by car, train, or Bus.  Shuttle service is available to employees arriving by bus or train and scheduled around set pick up days scheduled through HR.

Personal Vehicle:  Most employees choose to arrive via personal vehicle. Ample parking is available at each location. We highly recommend having your own form of transportation due to our remote location and to be able to travel and enjoy all of the additional opportunities around us that are a "day trip" drive. Some housing is also located 2-3 miles from work locations and it can get hot in the summer.

Shuttle Pick up Services:  Ticaboo Utah is a beautiful, but a truly remote location which requires extended driving, however, we do offer scheduled limited employee pickups for those arriving by train, bus and at times by plane. Our pick-up hub for employees is Green River, Utah which is approx. 120 miles from Ticaboo. Occasionally we can schedule a pickup in Grand Junction, Colorado at the airport.

Train:  Amtrak is a convenient and historic way to arrive for a summer of fun. We schedule weekly set pickups at the Amtrak Station in Green River, Utah for arriving employees. For those who fly into Salt Lake City, Utah or Las Vegas, Nevada, Amtrak does have service to Green River.

Bus:  Green River, Utah is also home to the Grey Hound Bus station with routes from many areas including Las Vegas, Nevada.

Plane:  If Grand Junction Airport is your designation when arriving by plane our housing and HR Coordinator will work with you to either schedule a pickup in Grand Junction or work with you on a bus schedule from Grand Junction to Green River.

Hotels and lodging while awaiting pick up - Due to the remoteness of our location and plane/transportation delays it may be necessary for you to stay in lodging at your expense until the scheduled shuttle arrives. There are numerous, affordable/budget lodging options in Green River, Utah. We suggest that you book in advance if you anticipate having to stay one or more nights, or most likely the rooms can be booked in person upon arrival if the delay is unexpected.

Employee trip and shuttle service - There is limited availability for transporting employees to and from property. At times during our high season (June-August) we arrange trips on a first come first serve sign up basis and frequency varies based on the season. Transportation is provided as space is available when our employees accompany our Adventure guides on a trip or activity.
