The Medicine Bow Creamery at Brush Creek Ranch is looking to hire creamery assistants to be part of our farmstead goat cheese operation. Employees will be part of a small team assisting with all aspects of creamery management, including cheese makes, facility cleaning, staffing creamery retail space, assisting with dairy chores and animal care, and leading guest experiences.
These positions are seasonal from April – October with an opportunity to extend. Shorter intern positions are also available. Compensation includes a bi-weekly salary, shared housing or monthly housing stipend, end of season bonus, and meals.
Creamery assistant tasks include:
- Assist with cheese makes and cleanup.
- Assist with cheese affinage.
- Assist with cheese packaging and deliveries.
- Assist with inventory tracking and record keeping.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Lead guest experiences and complimentary tastings
- Staffing creamery retail space.
Additional goat herder tasks will be performed as needed:
- Assist with milking and cleaning chores in the dairy.
- Clean barns as needed.
- Ensure goats have access to fresh water and feed daily as needed.
- Bottle feed kids and manage cleanup as needed.
Minimum requirements for both positions:
- Lift 50 lbs
- Good communicators
- Willingness to get dirty and handle animals.
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have customer service skills as this is a guest-facing position.
- Preferred candidates would have animal husbandry, cheese making, milking
Housing: We have different styles of housing units that range from bunk-style apartments to shared houses. All housing has shared spaces, micro/fridges or full kitchens, full bathrooms, and AC units. Limited pet housing on first come, first serve. We do take requests, but however, can not accommodate everyone. Family housing is not available, though we do offer $450 housing stipend for finding your own accommodations.
Fun housing perks: Sand volleyball court, outdoor basketball court, common areas with board games, TVs, and a digital dart board, a small gym with a few machines and free weights, free laundry facilities, outdoor firepit, spa discounts, plus 3 hot meals a day in the summer (2 in the winter).
