Seasonal employment varies by position from May to September. Our restaurant, opens Memorial Weekend and the resort fully opens to guided fishing in June. We will schedule employees to arrive throughout May and June with plenty of time for orientation, training and set up.

Managed by Highgate Hotels LLC, The Ketch Inn & Marina provides a fun and adventure-filled summer for our guests and staff. We are looking for associates for various roles who are passionate and strive to make a difference for each and every guest and each other. Our associates will have the opportunity to experience beautiful Alaska in an area that offers fishing, hiking and so much more! We expect associates to live up to these standards while working and living within our compound. We give full consideration to every application received. We will do as many interviews in person as possible but may also choose to conduct those via telephone and/or TEAMS.

Most associates are paid by the hour, and time and one-half is paid for over eight hours per day, 40 hours per week. The normal workweek usually ranges from 40 to 45 hours, however, we do not guarantee this. There may be times when you will be asked to work more or less than the normal workweek, and you will be paid accordingly.

  • Housekeepers

    The Room Attendant / Laundry Attendant / Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining clean and attractive guestrooms and public areas while providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests. This position will also handle laundry for the resort. The position also is responsible for maintaining Highgate Hotel Standards in all assigned lobby areas, Business Center, Fitness Center, restaurants, public restrooms, corridors, meeting rooms, offices, parking driveways, and any other public spaces.

  • Front Desk Agent

    The Front Office Agent is responsible for providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests during check-in, throughout their stay, and at checkout, while maximizing room revenue and occupancy.

  • Line Cook

    The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high quality food based on hotel standards. He/She is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of food items for the line, pantry or the production area of the main kitchen. Additionally he/she is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and proper storage of all china, glass, and silver, and ensuring the highest standards of sanitation. He/she is also responsible for assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and all storage areas; specifically for cleaning all equipment, utensils, and the physical work area. He/she is also responsible for assisting with proper food storage and rotation.

  • Maintenance Engineer

    The Engineer, is responsible for ensuring that the property is maintained in the best possible condition at all times with the least amount of inconvenience to customers and employees. Hourly wage $16 - $20/hour DOE

  • Chef de Cuisine

    The Chef de Cuisine is responsible for ensuring that all meals coming from the kitchen are well prepared with regard to quality, consistency, eye appeal, taste and food cost. He/she is expected to provide training for all staff; meet corporate quality standards; and assist in establishing and enforcing food specifications, portion control, recipes and sanitation. The Kitchen Manager is also responsible for controlling food and labor costs while maximizing guest satisfaction.

  • Restaurant / Bar Manager

    The Restaurant / Bar Manager is responsible for coordinating, supervising and directing all aspects of one F&B outlet’s operations, while maintaining a profitable F&B outlet and high quality products and service levels. He/she is expected to market ideas to promote business; reduce employee turnover; maintain revenue and payroll budgets; and meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality consistently high.

  • Night Auditor

    The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling all hotel cashier transactions; reviewing, organizing and compiling management reports on a timely basis and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions. He/she is also responsible for effectively communicating concerns and/or related issues to all levels of management and performing guest service agent duties as required, including check-in, check-out, switchboard operation and reservations.

  • Dishwasher / Steward

    The Steward/Potwasher/Warewasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and proper storage of all china, glass, and silver, and ensuring the highest standards of sanitation. He/she is also responsible for assisting the kitchen staff in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and all storage areas; specifically for cleaning all equipment, utensils, and the physical work area. He/she is also responsible for assisting with proper food storage and rotation.
