The Home Ranch is a rustic guest ranch where we showcase exceptional guest experiences and fine cuisine all amidst a spectacular setting in the Elk River Valley. Twenty miles north of the Steamboat Springs Ski Area, off and on-ranch activities are many and we welcome those that wish to make the most of their time in the area.

About The Home Ranch
The Home Ranch is always looking for enthusiastic individuals to fill its staff ranks. If you love working with people and appreciate the beauty of the Colorado Rockies, perhaps you would be interested in a job at our guest ranch.
We desire employees who love the outdoors, people, teamwork, and who are eager and willing to jump in to lend a hand wherever or whenever needed on the ranch.
We are a good fit for hard workers that will be comfortable in our more remote location.
Room and Board
We provide three meals to all staff daily. On site housing varies from small individual cabins to shared houses. The types available depends on needs, availability & gender. We supply the bed linens, towels, basic cooking items and furnishings.
Getting Here and Getting Around
The Home Ranch is 18 miles north of Steamboat Springs, CO. Staff are welcome to bring their own vehicles.
If you are flying in, Hayden Airport (HDN) is the closest and we are happy to pick you up. Alternatively, you can fly into Denver and take a shuttle up to Steamboat. We will arrange for transportation from the shuttle to the ranch as well.
On the ranch, staff enjoy horseback riding and ample hiking in the area's Routt National Forest and Mt. Zirkel Wildness during the summer. In the winter, they enjoy learning how to cross country ski and snowshoe on our 30km of maintained trails.
Being located 18 miles north of Steamboat Springs gives staff the opportunity to enjoy the ski resort's world famous powder in the winter and great mountain biking in the summer.
Our Summer is from June through October while our Winter season lasts mid-December to late-March. In both cases, preference will be given to those who are available to stay the full length of the season.
Physical fitness, safety knowledge, and biking experience a must! Will be interacting with guests ages 6 and up. Knowledge of local wildflowers, birds, animals a plus. When not biking you may help around the ranch in different capacities. Spend your summer biking in the mountains!
Help the Pastry Chef with baking of bread, cookies, and more.
Team player that works with other counselors to ensure that all the children visiting the ranch have a wonderful time. Must be able to work, communicate, play with all ages of children 6-18. Camp experience, music, sports, and a willingness to ride horses are great - bilingual skills an extra plus.
Dining Room Servers
Maintain a warm and inviting environment for our guests’ enjoyment with a high level of guest attention. Having a clear understanding of set-up and service procedures, ability to communicate in a team environment, while maintaining the company’s standard for excellence, resulting in the overall success of dining services.
Maintain clean and functional dish area, working in conjunction with chefs. Trash mitigation. Assist with meal preparation, Farm harvest, planting, and animal care.
We are looking for an experienced fishing guide who can lead trips on our private water as well as teach casting clinics on our pond. Physical fitness, outgoing personality, and good communication skills a must! When not fishing, you may help around the ranch in different capacities.
This person is the go between guests and all other staff. They will be checking in guests and introducing them to the ranch. Plan and troubleshoot daily schedules. Keep current with social media objectives and any other matter that might arise. Knowledge of all ranch operations is essential.
We need reliable and trusting applicants to provide turnover, turndown, and daily services to guest rooms. Lodge upkeep and possible outdoor work is included. Must be able to drive, follow direction, and work efficiently as part of a team. Pride in your job and quality customer service is essential.
The lead gardener is responsible for aiding the Master Gardener in a variety of tasks as well as taking the sole leadership role while the supervisor is not present. The lead gardener must be prepared for delegating work and ensuring that staff has the tools and knowledge to complete tasks safely and efficiently in the absence of the supervisor. Further, the lead gardener must be polite and presentable at all times, acting as the face of the horticulture team while interacting with guests, clients and visitors.
Should be proficient with sauté skills, knife skills, soup making, from scratch cooking, etc. Self motivated, prioritizing, multi tasking. Follow specific directions in this team environment.
