Provide administrative, tactical and operational support of key human resources programs and functions to all employees. Functions include: recruitment and hiring, employee relations, benefit communications, payroll submission, training and administrative duties in conjunction with CoAdvantage (PEO). 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Recruitment

  • Assist managers in posting jobs – newspaper, online, job boards, etc.
  • Research new job boards in order to find more qualified employees
  • Post housekeeping jobs in local area businesses (City Market, bus stations, etc.)
  • Attend local and regional job fairs when appropriate
  • Pro-actively cultivate new local recruiting resources and build relationships in the community
  • Work with senior leadership to maintain and cultivate relationships with local high schools, college/trade schools by coordinating events including guest lectures, mock interviewing, internships and part-time and full-time employment out of school
  • Conduct initial screening of applicants as needed

New Hire On-Boarding

  • Assist CoAdvantage in processing new hires
  • Assist employees in signing up for benefits
  • Facilitate property orientation for new hires
  • Complete New Hire Paperwork if applicable

Training

  • Facilitate employee legal training programs such as harassment and cybersecurity training, employment law training for managers.
  • Develop a safety program. Lead and train monthly programs including fire safety, power outage knowledge, emergency evacuation communication to staff.
  • Assist department manager with on-going training needs

Comp & Benefits

  • Working with department managers, review and approve payroll for submission to CoAdvantage
  • Review and assign secondary job codes as needed
  • Conduct two payroll audits per year
  • Serve as the first line of contact for employee questions and concerns
  • Participate in wage surveys
  • Understand where The Gant stands within community

Employee Relations & Gant Culture

  • Assist managers in developing personnel improvement programs (PIP)
  • Assist managers in employee discipline when necessary
  • Facilitate bus passes for employees
  • Facilitate wellness benefits/ski passes for employees
  • Consistent positive Champion of Gant culture
  • Plan end of season parties
  • Plan monthly brown bag lunches with a manager
  • Coordinate housekeeping week in September
  • Work with local area non-profits to create volunteer days for Gant staff
  • Administer Employee satisfaction surveys

Compliance

  • I9 file management
  • Work with property insurance company to ensure drivers are all on policy upon hiring
  • Work with managers to ensure proper background checks are made through CoAdvantage upon hiring.
  • Maintain worker's comp claims and work with CoAdvantage to facilitate
  • Maintain and update employee handbook
  • LOA/FMLA management
  • Employee file maintenance
  • Work with CoAdvantage to ensure compliance with all employment regulations as applicable including AAP/EEO/Vets 100 etc)
  • Workers Comp administration in conjunction with CoAdvantage

Experience

  • Customer service experience is preferred
  • Experience in problem-solving – the ability to identify the problem and work through it
  • Hotel or operational experience is a plus
  • Experience in a Human Resources environment a plus
