The Forge

Put-in-Bay, on South Bass Island, is located in Lake Erie, and is a summer resort that sees tens of thousands of visitors per season. The Forge is among the most popular restaurants on the island, holding #1 status on TripAdvisor for multiple years. Formerly a blacksmith shop, it is now open for full service brunch, lunch and dinner. We are celebrating our 11th season and have completely remodeled our entire restaurant, including a brand new kitchen! 

We are currently looking for high energy, detail oriented cooks to join us for the 2023 season! 1-2 years of experience is preferred but we are willing to train. We are currently hiring for many different stations that require various levels of experience. The different stations are expo, sauté, grill, fry, crêpe and café line. Cooks should have an excellent understanding of different cooking methods, ingredients and procedures; the ability to work very fast and maintain a clean station; the ability to stand for an 8 hour shift. Applicant should have knowledge of basic knife safety and sanitation guidelines and will be required to maintain food safety and cleanliness standards, held to specifications.

Line cook duties will consist of stocking and setting up station with necessary food, tools and equipment; preparing food for service; communicating and coordinating timing with other kitchen stations about orders; cleaning up station and equipment; maintaining proper sanitation while working; executing our menu items quickly and with a high level of quality and appearance; listening, answering and following the chef's instructions; maintaining a positive attitude to customers and coworkers.
